So is this a "Taking Turns" Commander?
I mean Kess, Dissident Mage plus any Time Warp is double turns. So do you just load up on every extra turn instant and sorcery and then build up to Beacon of Tomorrows
That's what I was thinking, although the first spell that came to my mind is Walk the Aeons,
which can get around the exile drawback for a measly 3 Islands every time you cast it from the GY.

Is this eternal format-playable, for those who like Legacy etc.?
A Snappy every turn feels like Legacy-level power... I'm wondering if we've found this Commander release's True-Name Nemesis/Flusterstorm....

To splash in legacy is extraordinarily difficult. That said, she hits a lot of important checkmarks for that:
1. Pitches to fow
2. Doesn't die to bolt
3. Doesn't die to abrupt decay
4. Wins the game on its own if stays on board
Probably will be tried. I can see 2~3 copies in a grixis control shell.

Mixed feelings...
Finally, a Grixis commander I think I would enjoy playing. However, only applying during your turn is pretty crippling.
This is also nearly identical to a custom commander I just designed (minus the 'your turn' limitation). I am going to have a very hard time justifying using said commander now with Kess, Dissident Mage available.

I have divined your fate. You shall find your nemesis, a catastrophic clash. Devastation, misery for all, the unleashing of horrible curses and ferocious powers. Ruin, such ruin that I dream each night of blessed peace, assured that the universe is in balance once more...

Very cool. Balan being a girl is a bit shocking. Didn`t expect that.

So she's a "good guy"? That's neat. Also, at least we can put that argument about where she's from to bed. I wouldn't mind an Equilor native showing up eventually though.
Now that is a good turbo turns general. I've seen a few Dralnu lists built for that purpose, but she seems better equipped for it. If you take enough turns in a row, she can kill someone with general damage alone. Dralnu works better reactively.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
If you're a living human on Grixis, you frequently have no choice but to fight against the archdemons and necromancer barons that control the shard. So you're kind of a "good guy" by default. Or at least the lesser of two evils.
I wouldn't mind an Equilor native showing up eventually though.
He or she would really need to have the right abilities, imo. Something that sells you on the idea that they're from a plane that's "finished" and stagnating. An ability that restricts untapping or casting spells would be good.

Just wait until you cast Gifts Ungiven or Intuition to reveal Time Warp, Walk the Aeons, Temporal Manipulation, and Capture of Jingzhou!
Kess has clearly seen some *****, and Mathas has crazy eyes.
