Portal Mage? enters the battlefield during the declare attackers step, you may reselect the player or planeswalker that the target attacking creature attacks. (Rough translation)
That's cute. Protect yourself or a friend and punish a foe, either by sending something nasty their way or by sending their attacker into a meat grinder, plus get a surprise blocker.
Nice catch! Those are definitely mage-rings on the battlefield, and the clothing is consistent with Origins too. Cool easter egg, and hopefully a hint that we may see more of the plane sometime soon?

Haha I am Vorthos to the core, my eyes miss nothing. That said, I really hope the next "new" plane is Vryn for sure. Perhaps after Dominaria.
I'm not sure those are mage-rings. To me, it looks like a single helix stretching away. Could just be the nature of the composition, but I really think that's one object, not a line of rings.

Perhaps, but it looks to me like someone looking into a Mage-Ring Network head-on. Balance of probability is that the portal/gate leads to Vryn. Unless suggesting PW of some kind, that would make the mage herself on Vryn.

Oh, if they are rings, it's definitely Vryn. It just looks like a helix to me. Might just be my eyes playing tricks on me, though.

Even if so, the clothing of the two combatants behind her is consistent with Ampryn Tactician and Graveblade Marauder, two cards we know to be from Vryn.
And here i was on the verge of disassembling that ephara deck, this thing is too cute not to abuse. Oh, youre going to craterhoof me? NOPE!
This doesn't save you from the alpha strike. It saves you from one creature.
While true, its been my experience that you should always ask exactly whats coming at you, because again as has been my experience, nine times out of ten the hoofer will only send exactly how much he needs at you in order to kill you so long as there are other players in the game, ive often survived simply by killing one creature because they didnt prepare for a surprise

This will lead to some interesting blowouts or it will do nothing if the opponent has a token swarm. I can totally see something happening like where the opponent has a Blightsteel Colossus and you play Portal Mage and use the Blightsteel to attack the other player who wasn't being attacked so you can be a dick. Or, you are playing against a Rhys token deck and your opponent attacks you with 50 elf 1/1's and this does nothing.

Those are definitely Mage-Rings. I love that the name itself is generic enough that you could reprint it on virtually any plane, but the ability unfortunately means we won't often see this outside 3+ player formats.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

Pity you can't make someone attack themselves with this.

aww beat me to it, it is an interesting card, it would be even more interesting if we can eventually get this effect en-mass

Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)
That's unexpected for sure, and I love it. Hope we get there in the not-too-distant future.
