These all look very interesting. The Necromancer goes well with Sun Titan. I'm happy to see that there may be some sort of Zombie subtheme in the Wizards deck.

Wow, Mairsil is very good and on flavour too, what a home run. Nice to see an Apprentice Necro reprint with an art update as well. Wizards deck is looking better and better.
Also, cool. "imprint" Magus of the Wheel, Arcanis, Magus of the Will, Tradewind Rider, Zuran Orb, Time Elemental, Deadeye Navigator, yeesh!
The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
Great flavorful design and quite an interesting character to dig up in the first place. There was a lot of speculation, but I cannot even remember anyone mentioning Mairsil. Though good job if you did and I missed you.
The best thing is that the design also is extra unique and damn well suited to a commander - who can come back better and stronger over multiple castings. Everything is coming together wonderfully in this card and not at all forced.
Mairsil is new to me. How does the effect of the card reflect the character?
Mairsil locked Ith in Barl's Cage whiched siphoned his mana to power Mairsil's collection of artifacts. Later, after he was killed, his soul lived on inside his ring, which eventually fell into the hands of Lim-dul, who Mairsil possessed.
This card hits all those key points in two sentences. It's honestly impressive.

Thousand Year Elixir easily comes to mind.
Arcanis the Omnipotent and Royal Assassin could be good cage counter cards.
Aetherling seems like a no brainer.
UBRKess, Dissident MageUBR - Controlling Dissidents
GRhonas the IndomitableG - Indomitable Four Drops
WUBOloro, Ageless AsceticWUB - Loot & Renanimate
To my memory...no. This is the best lore-to-card respecting design ever. Not exaggerating a bit.

I'm glad to see something of this magnitude because I was thrown aback myself.
Feel free to tell me yours!

The copy ETBs and you have to put one into your graveyard, but the trigger happens anyway. Inalla and Mairsil work well together.
Finally a good white villain quote: "So, do I ever re-evaluate my life choices? Never, because I know what I'm doing is a righteous cause."

Even if you sacrifice the token the ETB effect still happens and you still get to cage another card.
R Citizen Cane (Feldon of the Third Path)
Pill-Pala and Thran Dynamo but you can only do the effect of each one once per turn.
Mairsil is exactly what Mairsil should be. Excellent Vorthosian design.
