New Blood - 2BB
Sorcery - Rare
As an additional cost to cast New Blood, tap an untapped Vampire you control.
Gain control of target creature. Change the text of that creature by replacing all instances of one creature type with Vampire.

This card is glorious. Even using this card to harness potential of other lords or token producers, like:
Hangarback Walker would produce artifact Vampire tokens with flying. Cryptbreaker would give a discard engine to make Vampire tokens (wink wink Olivia), and tapping three Vampires would draw a card. Kari Zev, Skyship Raider attacking would make a Vampire Ragavan token. Hanweir Garrison would churn out red Vampire tokens. Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet would start making Vampire tokens instead of Zombies. Krenko, Mob Boss would make Vampire tokens based on the number of Vampires you control. Crested Sunmare would make 5/5 Vampire tokens and other Vampire creatures would be indestructible.

Huh so you can steal lords from other players!? As well as their eminence commanders.

If the creature you gain control of has more than one creature referenced in its text(Like Hungry Lynx), does every type get replaced with Vampire?
It says 'one creature type' so no. Hungry Lynx would change to
"2/2 Vampire
Vampires you control have protection from Rats.
At the beginning of your end step, target opponent creates a 1/1 black Rat creature token with deathtouch.
Whenever a Rat dies, put a +1/+1 counter on each Vampire you control"
Or
"2/2 Cat
Cats you control have protection from Vampires.
At the beginning of your end step, target opponent creates a 1/1 black Vampire creature token with deathtouch.
Whenever a Vampire dies, put a +1/+1 counter on each Cat you control."

Just Hangarback Walker alone would be absolutely hilarious with this card. There's just a ton of fun potential with this one.

Yes it does, and that is HYSTERICAL. Vampires have protection from Vampires.
Sadly it doesn't work that way, although it would be truly hilarious if it did. New Blood specifies that you're replacing *one* creature type with Vampire in the text, so you could only replace Cats or Rats.

Incredibly powerful, perhaps unfun to play against.
Why doesn't blue get Control Magic that is this powerful.
This card is much worse than Control Magic given that it requires a specific creature type to work.
It's not "worse." It's just different. No one in their right mind would play this card in a non-vampire EDH deck, and in that deck, this is way better than a black Control Magic.
If I were making a deck that could use both (e.g., a Dimir Vampire deck, as weird as that sounds), I would use Control Magic over this card.
The benefits of this card are that it cannot be removed and allows the creature to impact and be impacted by Vampire tribal cards.
The very large downside is that you must control an untapped Vampire to even cast the card.
In the general case, that downside is worse than the upside.
Very clearly, if you can't use Control Magic in your deck, then the comparison is moot.
An additional upside of this card vs Control Magic is that the effect can't be removed. The creature is now just yours outside of some effect stealing it back.
Oooohhhh, you can cast this on you own stuff just to change the text. Pity you only get to change one creature type instead of all creature types, because otherwise Xathrid Necromancer.

Seems especially vicious versus Sliver Legion decks.
