They didn't need phasing: giving hexproof and indestructible was basically the same (leaving mass-exile effects apart) and required less wording. It's just a weird choice made to look weird, that's it, but the card is freaking powerful.
Curse of Vitality works wonder with mana artifacts and creature.
Where's Teferi's hat? He had it during the Invasion.
In some ways, the new curses are not as powerful as the ones before. Old curses were used as a political tool, to lure people to attack certain player, but these five boosts you, which means that people might not want to attack the cursed player because they don't want you to benefit from you them.

Being phased out means that you can't affect or use your permanents, either. That's a pretty big difference.
I want to know who the guy in the Curse cycle is. He is so screwed lmao He's basically me in the MTG multiverse - no matter where you go or what you do, you gonna get the worst
I declare that it is mandatory to wave your hand in front of your face and say "You can't see me" whenever you successfully resolve Teferi's Protection.
The wizards deck is Grixis colors, right? And Teferi is a blue wizard with like 3 blue in his casting cost. Flavor wise I think this card should be in the wizards deck, but it can be in any deck except the wizards deck (only one without white). I still like card a lot, great Sunforgertarget.
Lethal vapors can kinda go infinite with Teferi's Protection, but it requires you to have some sort of way to prevent opponents from activating it. A sac outlet for enchantments could do the trick, you keep priority after putting each instance on the stack, then sacrifice it, giving nobody else the chance. But with something like auratog, you can cast lethal vapors, activate it 1000 times, sacrifice it as a cost, then cast teferi's protection, then go get some drinks or something
Curse Cycle story:
Walking to bar, drops some coins and peasants swarm (Opulence)
Gets to bar, boasts about being so rich and above all these poor folk (Verbosity)
Angers the lady with the witch hat, who sends a swarm of zombies after his arrogant a++ (Disturbance)
Villagers blame him for being overrun by zombie hoards, "it's his doing, get him!" (Vitality)
"I may have gotten beat to hell and exiled, but at least I got away from those angry villagers! Been a long day, time to eat" *Wolves appear*

Oh wow! Edgar Markov is a pretty amazing commander for a casual vampire players. He seems exceptional for wide vampire armies, and theirs no need to cast him. He is a tad on the expensive side. Wish he was like or cheaper though. All in all, solid fellow. 10/10 would play! I am amazed no one is talking about him...

He is kinda dull, The abilities are nothing we haven't seen recently really.

He is Oketra Monument stapled onto Drana.
Mmmm. I would have thought that would be awesome, which I totally think he is. I wonder if people would say differently if he was cheaper? He is three different colors after all and should not be that expensive in my opinion.

I think some of it is just that it is abilities that we have seen recently. One is a non-tribal version of a card that has shown up in standard recently and the other is an upgraded version of an ability off another Vampire Legend, now BFZ/OGW was a couple of years ago but Drana was a pretty Hyped card.

It should be noted that the rules for phasing are going to change as of the release date of C17. Per Matt Tabak:
"Effective 8/25 (#MTGC17 release), we're changing the rules so tokens can phase out and phase back in. Batterskulls rejoice! #WotCstaff"
Previously, if a token phased out, it would cease to exist (it wouldn't phase back in) and any Auras or Equipment attached to it that phased out indirectly would remain phased out forever because it no longer had a permanent to phase in with.

Thank you! I'm glad in not the only one who noticed that. Wtf?
Mass exile, mass tuck, mass stat reduction and mass bounce.
It's not "basically the same". In multiplayer, these mass sweep effects do matter and do have an impact, so white having an out to them is handy.

I'm udder shocked at you guys diden't catch this trick with Teferi's protection
step on get one of these conditions ready to go
Hellkite Tyrant (you still keep the artifacts you stole.)
Epic Struggle or Mortal Combat (not token creatures.)
Mayael's Aria (don't do marit lage.)
Laboratory Maniac (this one is a huge gamble though)
Near-Death Experience (have worship, Sustaining Spirit,Fortune Thief,Angel's Grace or Ali from Cairo for a safety net.)
step two teferi's protection
then...
laugh
heres how this works
it phases everything out you can't loose life and your untouchable and none of the cons in here
next turn lateer everything phase back in Before the upkeep then the upkeep triggers boom.
what do you think?
Grand Abolisher

Agreed. It's also inconsistent—
the green one has different templating than the others for some reason.
Teferi's Protection seems bonkers.
I wouldn't be surprised if it sees Legacy play,
and ends up the most expensive card of the set.
