The land base of this dragon deck better be the nuts. Triple red, double black, double white, various gold cards...

All solid. Crux and Haven are perfect for the deck and I was hoping for Scourge. Also shows there are some cool cards Turn1Thoughtseize missed in the leak (though I think we've seen the lands).

Check out the thread for my cube if you have the time, and tell me how terrible it is.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)
I feel like the dragons deck is hurdling toward the plight of every kitchen table dragons deck: too many dragons, at too high of a casting cost, across too many colors, with very little fixing.
But hey its not a dragons deck if it doesnt get utterly crushed with the excuse of "if i had one more mountain"
Verhey's article today says the Dragon deck has a Ramp subtheme. So we can expect lots of manarocks and land search spells. I don't think we're getting an extremely fancy manabase with the lands.

He threw in some stuff like Broodmate Dragon as well. Regardless, it is excellent to see even more goodies.

Well, I wouldn't count on Ugin, the Spirit Dragon appearing in this deck, being that he clears $30.00. But Haven is technically 100% functional in this deck since it can also retrieve Dragon cards.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

I would never run haven in a deck without Ugin. I never run cards that can't utilize their effects in commander (The BR dragonlord comes to mind). This is just a pet peeve however.

But the effect is Dragon creature card OR Ugin. So most of the effect can still be used without Ugin in your deck, if it's in a Dragon deck.
It's five color dragons. The mana base has to be pretty ridiculous.
Solid reprints. My friends and I are going to have fun with this in a pod of four with the other three decks.
Well, five-color means there's going to be very nonbasic manabase: You can start with City of Brass and Mana Confluence, then go from there; given that this is a precon, I'm absolutely certain we'll see Rupture Spire and Shimmering Grotto. I make it a rule, though, to eliminate a lot of cards requiring three mana of the same color first, then start going for those with two of the same color. And while I'm more generous about hybrids, Divinity of Pride is right out.
But of course, at the same time, you'll want to be able to search for basics. I can't see them putting a full cycle of shocks in this deck. And when your creatures start costing six mana or more, that manabase starts looking more basic.
All that said, Commander product is supposedly for casuals (even if Ghave, Nekusar, Kaalia, Derevi, Prossh, and Ezuri typically break some standard casual rules), and casuals generally don't see Blood Moon coming, so a lot of nonbasics are expected.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

It mentions Ugin, so he has to be in the deck. Like- I would literally take this card out of the deck if Ugin was not in there. I got it bad doc.

Haven of the Spirit Dragon and Scourge of Valkas are essential reprints for any dragon deck and I'm glad to see them even if I already have a bunch of each.
Crucible is bad but we all knew it was coming.
Crux of Fate was expected as well. Personally, I can't really find myself including it over the likes of Toxic Deluge and Living Death but it's not a bad wrath for a dragon deck to start with.
The mana base doesn't have to have duals. It already has Crucible, Haven, Command Tower, Path of Ancestry, and probably Commander's Sphere, Opal Palace, Ash Barrens, Rupture Spire, Transguild Promenade, City of Brass, etc. That's better for casting your dragons than duals unless you're playing fetches and basic typed duals.
Given Haven, it'll be awkward if they don't reprint Ugin.
Crucible is clunky, but fine.
Crux is an excellent inclusion. Apparently it's less than a dollar; but it's a wrath effect that's on theme.... kinda. I don't see many people choosing to destroy all dragons with this one.
Scourge is still a lot of text for so little value. I realize making even a one-shot flying Flametongue Kavu as a 4/4 would probably need to cost 4RR or more... but maybe making it fight would allow it to come down at 3RR... with far, far less text devoted to the ridiculous "counts # of dragons" x text.

Scourge of Valkas allows you to kill everyone via mass reanimation/clone legion/a big dragonstorm/Utvara Hellkite alpha strike. He's the first card anyone using library exile against me goes for because his explosive potential is that incredible. He's possibly the second best dragon in print and it's a staple in almost any dragon deck. It was a great choice to reprint.
