Agree. I'm not any less inspired to buy what I wanted when I first saw these leaks. O-Kagachi especially. Excitement for that will never fade even after playing him for years as my Kamigawa deck general.
Hell I'm still hype about Kynaios and Tiro, and Thrasios/Kydele.
You could say I'll buy because I'm enfranchised, but those that aren't wouldn't seek the early leaks anyway, then.
Dont get me wrong. I'm still buying the dragon deck. Its just that because the major cards for today were leaked today as a spoiler day kinda sucked.

I dunno - finally getting confirmation that they are real was pretty exciting for me. I can't wait to pick up that deck.

If WoTC wasn't steadfast in keeping their schedule unchanged, they could have shown other spoilers today, confirming the dragons when they were first leaked.
The fact that they are unwilling to acknowledge the leaks is compounded by the fact they don't alter they spoiler release. I agree that today kinda sucked. WoTC could have changed that. However, for some reason, they choose to punish the most invested players by not altering anything, and dropping just a few new cards. That is just bad policy. Punish the leakers, not the ones excited about the leaks that are going to spread the word about your new cards.

Yeah I feel you. I glanced at them and was like eh, we've seen these. But I'll admit seeing O-Kagachi's art clearly made me happy. The downside to the spoiler was how eager it made everyone to get these decks at a time that was too soon. Finding out today and only waiting two weeks was better than waiting months knowing O-Kagachi is coming for example.

The schedule for these was likely set a while ago. WotC isn't "punishing" anyone, you just want to eat your cake and have it.

Huh? Did you read what I wrote? I said they should change their set schedule so as to not show leaked cards as if nobody knew they existed. That should also happen with a proper acknoledgment of the leaked cards when they were leaked. If they did that we could be seeing vampire and/or wizards today, together with a few new dragons here and there.
I take it by your comment that I want to see the leaks and still get excited by WoTC showing me the leaked cards that I already knew? Really don't understand your reply.

I know this horse has been beaten to death, but it's ridiculous that O-Kagachi is a mere 6/6. At least he stills tears through Yosei like he does in the novels, which is cool, I guess? It's very unlikely, but here's hoping they do him again someday, and do him right.
The art is gorgeous, but more like the art on Final Judgment and not really at all like the O-Kagachi from the novels. O-Kagachi in the books has teeth the size of grain silos, a maw that can swallow a legion of mounted samurai in one bite, and eyes that fill the horizon like suns. A sense of scale in this art would be nice.
The preview article kept claiming "This is the O-Kagachi we knew from the novels!" But anyone who's read the books knows that no, no it isn't, and Mr. Styborski sounds as if he's trying to convince himself as much as the rest of us.
That said, while it's nearly as big of a dropped flavor ball as Karona, False God, it's still a really cool card and far more fun and playable. I'll definitely get a copy or two because I'm a Kamigawa superfan and have been waiting for this card for thirteen years. Overall, I say it's an interesting, exciting dragon/spirit commander, but a disappointing O-Kagachi--especially since he wasn't printed in Kamigawa Block to begin with because he was considered "too powerful" to put on a card.

Liking leaks is one thing. But I think it's a bit entitled to demand an altered spoiler schedule. So today wasn't as exciting to you as it could have been - well, that's just what happens when you spoiler yourself early. The "enfranchised players" will stay interested in the product anyway, even if they don't get to be full-on hype for one measly day.
You know, I didn't actually think that my Commander deck would get much from this release, this year's product being tribal and all, but damn. Path of Ancestry? That card is bonkers!
I don't think there's ever been a land in Magic that produces gold mana, but enters the battlefield tapped as a consequence and nothing else. Rupture Spire and Transguild Promenade request an extra mana to keep them around. The Vivid lands only have two uses. Grand Coliseum deals damage to you. But this? No additional cost at all. All it does is enter the battlefield tapped.
And dare I mention that it has an upside. Sometimes this card just scries for free!
I think Path of Ancestry is going to be, or at least ought to be — some folks may not realize how good this card is — a new Commander staple. Every deck with at least four colors should probably be playing this card. Decks with at least three colors might also want this card, but I'm not 100% positive about that yet. Decks with tribal themes definitely want this card regardless of their number of colors.

Path of Ancestry would be one of our two commons. Basically a Command Tower with slight upside at the cost of ETBT. Playable in any Commander deck but most ideal in tribal decks. And unlike Tower, Path actually has use in monocolor decks.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

The article did emphasize that this is the diminished O-Kagachi. It's exciting that the artwork showed rifts in O-Kagachi's body, showing where his "heart" (That Which was Taken) was forcibly removed by Konda's sacrilegious ritual. I threw the absolute biggest fit about O-Kagachi being only a 6/6 with a passive effect, but seeing justifications for this in the clearer art and acknowledgement by WOTC in the article placated me a bit. I still feel he should have been a 10/10 and the art could have been more ominous, but damn I'm just too excited to have him on a card to care anymore about my other Vorthos demands.
Wow, Kindred Discovery is pretty insane. Just in time for the pirates too! Path is also very good, obviously. Really awesome tribal support so far.
Yeah, my first thought was "tribal Coastal Piracy meets Mentor of the Meek, only much better, for slightly more mana". I imagine every blue token deck is going to want it, no more so than The Locust God. (Granted, you still need Laboratory Maniac to avoid killing yourself.)

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

You claimed that by not altering the spoiler schedule WotC was punishing the most invested players. That this is why you believe they should:
- acknowledge the leaks
- alter their schedule for spoilers
To which I say:
- telling people there are leaks is a bad idea. You don't want spoilers and when they happen you tell everybody they are out there?
- they have these pretty big articles written a month ahead of time (based on MaRo's lead up time). You want them to change everything when certain cards, they don't know which ones by the way, are maybe leaked?
You didn't think things through. You want preview season AND spoilers.

To both of your points:
- Why a bad idea? It is not as if WoTC not mentioning the leaks is stopping people from knowing about them. Remember when the wastes was leaked? WoTC took ages to acknowledge and explain what would change rules-wise, and Maro even complained about the leak getting people confused. Well then, explain it to people! Everyone has access to MTGsal, mythicspoiler, facebook groups, reddit, etc. The players most interested in new cards are going after the leaks and spreading them through the community. When this happens, WoTC should take control of the situation, confirm the leaks as real and clarify any confusion. What do you think they gain by holding back? I don't see how they pretending the leaks don't exist is going to stop future leakers.
- Yes, I want them to be able to change and adapt their schedule, what is wrong with that? If the article is ready to be released during the leak, even better! Release the article. If they are still writing the article, then just ask people to be a little patient. If is not something relevant (like a storyline article), then keep the normal schedule. I don't understand why they have to keep this stiff compromise with their schedule as if they couldn't deal with shortcomings.
I did think things through, I just can't understand your reasoning for disagreeing with me. I'm not chasing after leaks, but when they happen, I see them, and a huge chunk of the community sees them too. What is wrong with adapting preview season in that case? For instance, people who listened to the recent podcast that WoTC released about the commander product said it was a nothing burger. Nothing new, no previews, no nothing. Why on earth wouldn't they take this opportunity to discuss some of the leaked cards? They could just discuss the new dragon generals and maybe imply to one or another dragon-type card people could expect to see. They are just so... plastered. It is really disappointing.
