this opens up the possibilities for a Cats vs Rats Duel Deck xD. Still live the flavor of this one.
My friend Dan had a Rats and Bats casual deck back in the day, now he can add Cats, and maybe a helm or two for Cats, Bats, Rats and Hats!

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
This is dumb.
I give my opponent lots of rats, they kill it, then their rats kill my cats?
I get what they're going for, but this is practically useless. It's "fun" if you ignore the fact that it will die the moment an opponent wants it to.
In 1-vs-1, maybe. In games with 4 or more players (you know, which these products are heavily geared towards)? It's a very sound strategy to be able to play politics.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
This is dumb.

you sir no nothing about group hug/politics do you?
mistake number one the cats gain protection from the rats you give them so those rats don't work on your cats
second nice try with you example of making it you just simply don't give it to the deck with sacrifice involved. finally when those rats die your cats get bigger great for cat tribal.
And political go some like this. You could do to the sac guy "I will give you a rat in one condition you sac it to destory "a opponents creature" instead of the lynx" that's how group hugs go sometimes you make a deal with someone.
This card is perfect. It's unique, fun and powerful with perfect flavor and adorable art.

This card is one of the best examples why I still love magic to this day. It's really unique, features sweet art and it's unbelievably cute on top of that. The other cats are great too, I gotta say, I'm positively surprised by the cat deck so far.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
"Cats have protection from rats." makes sense flavorwise, as far as protection goes, as does a, normally I'd call it a Titania's Boon, but given the theme (and the fact that it's mostly colorshifted to W), Inspiring Roar for cats whenever a rat dies.
I like how he gives opponents rats. I'm guessing that's playing with your food?

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

That's exactly correct. I see it as she's a mouser, and she's going to rat you out for your choice of friends. The rats want to fight back, but the feline furor fuels a fulsome fighter. Oh my lord, I want this card in triplicates.

Not sure what's going on with the mouth. Is that little nub below its lips its lower jaw? I can...kind of see that? Mostly it looks like it's trying to whistle though. The tongue is really throwing me off, I wonder if it was added later.
Also the mechanics and flavor is great Except for the part where cat tribal is stupid and makes no sense.
giving my opponents bodies almost always backfires. even if you're picking the guy who benefits most obviously the least... its still fuel for things and it doesn't matter how big your stupid cats are if your opponent uses that rat to go HA I WIN YOU NECKBEARD

Their rats can't kill your cats because your cats have protection from rats.
Your cats only have that protection if this kitty is in play. If it eats a removal spell, your opponent is free to to turn his bubonic tide against you as he sees fit.

That reminder text is incorrect. The Rats can deal damage, but protection prevents it. This is relevant because of cards like Skullcrack.
