They are currently only 6 white vampires ever printed(More if you count sorin). All BW, I expect them all to be in this, and only a couple mono white vampires, maybe only one legendary one so it makes more sense.

Just to remind you
Don't open if you don't want spoilers.
We getting quite a bit of white vampires in ixalan so this deck will be immensely upgraded in September.
Speaking of sacrifice, I wouldn't be surprised if one of our Vampire legends was a Cleric cultist with a discard and/or sacrifice theme, possibly also from Innistrad. And maybe we'll get a Mardu Vampire Ally legend from Zendikar? I wouldn't expect Rally or Cohort, but they could create Vampire Ally creature tokens to play well in an Ally tribal deck.
Yeah, that seems like a good assortment of Mardu Vampire legends:
Face card presumed to be Edgar Markov, geared towards aggro
Cultist with discard and sacrifice abilities
Ally that creates Vampire Ally tokens
All three can play off each other and cover most of the Vampire gameplay strategies.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Yeah sure, every one want to be competitive. Then why not playing a competitive sanctioned format instead of messing with commander?
1. I like only needing one of each card
2. I like the concept of having a Commander
3. I like building intricate Commander decks
4. Commander Games with friends at a LC/GS are fun
5. Winning is also fun and playing to win with those aforementioned people is fun.
Where has this belief emerged from that competition is inherently a not fun prospect?
Question: Is there a reason it seems most are speculating the vampire is Edgar Markov and not say, Runo Stromkirk? I mean Runo was the legendary swordsman and all...
Markov lineage vampires share the typical golden eyes Sorin has. Look at Sorin, look at Markov Blademaster, look at Markov Warlord.
Question: Is there a reason it seems most are speculating the vampire is Edgar Markov and not say, Runo Stromkirk? I mean Runo was the legendary swordsman and all...
Idk, wasn't Runo and the Stromkirk related to the sea and the worshipping of abyssal monsters? Doesn't seem a good candidate for a mardu vampire
True, yet all Stromkirk vampires in the game are black and red. He can easily be just BR.

I would have preferred Esper Wizards because Jeleva and Nekusar are already a thing. White Wizards with tax or restrict effects would be cooler, like Magus of the Moat or whatever. Also I just love Esper. But hey, I'm sure the deck will lean heavy to Blue which I have no complaints about
Runo Stormkirk is the Vamp I'm most interested in seeing, despite my lack of interest in Vamps overall. He could be a Vampire Wizard in the Grixis deck, yeah.
Cats, only Lanathos comes to mind. We already have Brimaz so I could care less for the rest, unless we get new Oreskos related things such as Oreskos Explorer, which is one of my favorites.
Dragons - Probably the best place to have made Thraxes… I bet there are still tons of Dragons needing cards. They're just prominent. No idea how we're going to catch up.
I think Edgar Markov is speculated highly due to family resemblance with Sorin. (I thought all Innistrad Vampires were supposed to have gold/black eyes, at the very least the black sclera is a general features of Innistradi Vampires according to an old Arcana - I don't know whether the iris color is supposed to differ between clans. The white hair is a hint though that is definitely not ubiquitous.)
we could get a grixis vampire with Runo Stromkirk.
That's a cool idea I haven't thought of yet - and quiet possible. If O-Kagachi can be a Dragon Spirit, then Runo Stromkirk can be a Vampire Wizard (while we usually would expect him to be a Cleric). It's definitely within the chracter to be UBR with the Stromkirks' affinity to the sea/coast added on top of Innistrad Vampire's basic black-red colors. It also is a need crossover legendary character of a tribe that appears in another deck where the colors that are supported for the tribe are expanded.

I'm guessing the Wizard deck will have an instant and sorcery spell theme to it which works better in UBR (the three colors with the lowest % of creatures). From my own custom designs that played with a UBR fraction I found it can be interesting to play UR spell forced like deck that added in the extra control, kill spells and graveyard recursion that B can give. A spell focused deck also would be a flavorful deck for wizards.

[quote from="White Magus »" url="http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/magic-fundamentals/the-rumor-mill/780756-5-colour-dragons-selesnia-cats-mardu-vampires?comment=72"]In my experience, most people don't play commander for competitive reasons. It is still, for the most part, a more casual format. In addition results are going to vary wildly depending on play groups. My own playgroup has numerous tribal decks that all do well, including my own Olivia Voldaren and Wydwen, the Biting Gale decks. I also see Zombies and Slivers doing pretty well in most instances. Lastly I'm guessing these decks will bring some help to these tribes to make the more "Competitive", though I hardly see competitive viability as an issue. Most people, again this is my experiences, want to play with a "Fun" commander who is cool in their eyes.
That depends. Regarding 1v1 commander, either the mtgo version or duelcommander, people mostly just play with competitive decks. Commander is by far and away the format that I have played the most, and I much rather play the competitive version of it than the for-fun party version of multiplayer. Speaking of multiplayer, in there I agree that people don't usually play competitive decks, and I believe that is for a good reason.
My theory revolves around a sort of prisoner's dillema, where if you show up in a multiplayer table with a perfectly tuned competitive deck, you will win one or two games before being completely hated by the playgroup. People say they play for fun, but nobody likes to lose repeatedly for the same deck. From that point onwards either the playgroup bans the problematic deck/player or steps up their game by playing competitive decks as well. The issue is that, in a multiplayer competitive environment, the only viable decks would be combo decks, since it is not realistically to competitive deal 120 points of damage. Then you would have 4 competitive combo decks playing each other, and the obvious result is that every player will be feeling like they're playing Archenemy, where the other 3 players are trying to stop at all costs their opponents to combo. And the reality is that, without Archenemy schemes, one player can't defeat other 3, so the experience overall becomes miserable. You can try to go for the combo, someone stops you, then somebody else goes for it, until someone wins solely because their opponents exhausted the answers they had on the other players. In short, even when you win you know it was not necessarily on your merits, but only because of the way things played out. Multiplayer is not a format that adapts well to competitive scenarios. People say they 'want to have fun', but the truth is that people don't play competitive not because they don't actually want to, just because the format naturally repels this sort of strategy. Of course, some playgroups will be an exception to this overall rule.
In that vein, literally anything can be considered 'fun' for someone, and I'm sure there will be plenty of goofy Ramos decks playing cascade spells, or storm, or whatever. When you are not concerned with trying to make a competitive deck, almost anything is acceptable. That is why most multiplayer decks are battlecruise magic: big flashy creatures with big flashy spells that would never really see the light of play if someone was actually tuning their deck to win as often as they can.
I can respect that point of view but I don't play 1v1 commander. I also feel your view of what would be competitive in a multiplayer format is a bit narrow (more than just combo decks can win and 120 damage isn't actually hard to hit in commander decks tuned for multiplayer), but Multiplayer isn't usually meant to be competitive to begin with as you said. Even than in the EDH format you have numerous answers to those finely tuned competitive decks, sometimes even a commander itself can be an answer. Also something to keep in mind is that Commander decks meant for 1v1 are going to be tuned differently than those meant for Multiplayer. I have seen 1v1 commander decks come in and get stomped plenty of times because they can't handle multiple opponents. I've also seen them dominate a table. Overall I'll quote soramaro in this as they pretty much nailed how I feel about commander over all:
Personally, I don't really get why you would want to play 1vs1 or "competitive EDH". The singleton aspect alone makes you deck very inconsistent. Sure, you can build your deck with lots of redundant pieces, but that just reduces the original appeal of EDH. If I wanted efficient decks and fast games, I'd play Modern or even older formats.
And while that isn't 100% spot on, as I do believe you can tune decks in commander and have decently competitive decks while maintaining the spirit of the EDH format, I have just never seen it as a competitive format. Doesn't mean you can't have competitive decks or games, but the feel of it is much different from something like Standard. In the end we just have two different perspectives about what makes the commander format so good, and frankly both are correct.

I know that some people enjoy having a commander to build their deck around and use the consistency of the commander to offset the inconsistency of the singleton deck's inconsistency. I personally don't know why a nonsingleton commander format has not yet caught on. I personally play 61/4 Commander in addition to the 100/1 EDH just because it is a different experience from 60/4 Constructed without commander as well as different from 100/1 Constructed including commander (which is EDH).
For some reason people treat the commander rules as something that is tied to a singleton deck rather than a module you can add to your games like Vanguard/Archenemy/Planechase etc. That's understandable when you take in terms of "EDH" since the 'H' refered to a Singleton format, but that's not a strict prerequisite of using a commander.

[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
It becoming the thing Wizards hooked onto that continually launches product for helps that and it is much simpler to get people into a format that has a lot of official support (stores too)
From my understanding a typical casual commander edh group will play with the following additional rules:
No mass land destruction
No repeatable land destruction
No infi combos (limited tick amount)
Generally don't be a "unsportsmanlike player" depending on you're playgroups viewpoint
Under these points im keen to make a vampire deck.
Probably a total long shot, but any way to spin Urza being designed as a UBR design instead of a WUBRG design? Was there any point in the story where his color alignment was more UBR?

Serra would like a word about that, he basically strong armed her into collapsing her entire plane into an energy source for his long term anti-Yawgmoth plan to "save her people" from the problem he brought to her doorstep lol
Also, there is an amazing short story of a time where he summoned a Shivan Dragon, gave it sentience and released it to "observe what it would do". When the dragon came back to complain it wasn't strong enough, he gave it more mana and release it again for observation. He then recalls it one last time, and gives it even more mana, which the dragon promptly uses to break free of Urza's control, torch his laboratory and fly away to conquer the countryside. Urza just shrugs and goes to his next project without bothering to solve the problem he created. He may not be black aligned, but he definitely didn't clean up all of the messes he created lol
Kinda excited about mardu vampires, guess which white stuff (besides Sorin) will be here. Though idea of white Ixalan vampires still seems weird for me.

understand that you are the exception and not the rule. Saying that everyone want to play competitively and playing casual is just a bad thing that the format makes you do is wrong and assumptive. There are dozen of competitive format while commander is the closest thing to a casual format that we have. Don't be surprised if people want to play it casually then.
I didn't say or assume anything you just accused me of in the post you quoted I simply answered your question. Also in every game shop I have gone to the style of Commander I like to play is not the exception it is generally the majority so I disagree with your premise on purely anecdotal grounds that we are both using.
Serra would like a word about that, he basically strong armed her into collapsing her entire plane into an energy source for his long term anti-Yawgmoth plan to "save her people" from the problem he brought to her doorstep lol
Is that how it went? I recall it being that Serra left the plane to its fate (because of said Phyrexian corruption Urza brought to its doorstep), Radiant took over, and the combined factors of Serra being gone and Radiant's insanity led to the plane's inevitable collapse. At least by collapsing it into an energy source, he could make use of it.

True, he didn't force her to do it directly, my bad on that. He definitely took advantage of the situation he created with his careless planeswalking around during the war. I guess the point I was trying to make is more along the lines of what I tell my 5E players: "Lawful Good doesn't always mean Lawful Nice" He may have been playing the hero, but he was pragmatic at best and careless at worst with how he approached his vendetta against Yawgmoth lol
Back to the topic if him getting a card: if he does get a card, let's all hope it's better than the time he was hiding in plain sight as Blind Seer!
I'm hoping Mardu vampires is more of an aristocrat deck than an aggro deck for the sake of power level, consistency, multiplayer, and redundancy with the cat deck and the common philosophy that Red decks have to be aggro.
Where has this belief emerged from that competition is inherently a not fun prospect?
Because one of the strongest ways to win in multiplayer is to prevent the opponents from actually getting to play stuff.
You can do this with combo or with stax. Or even with insane aggressiveness. So you either win before they can play their creatures or you won't allow them to play their creatures.
And that's how quite some people experience competitive EDH. Which means they find it unfun.
It's really not that hard to understand.
So why do we need this discussion every other thread?
