Pretty neat! I own a D20, so the Sword will be a perfect addition to my collection once Unstable comes out.
A Dinosaur Transformer? Oh, I see the Ixalan plug there. For extra flavor, use a Grimlock toy to transform Grimlock.
Nice reference on the Nerf War flavor text.
I like that all three cards reference items relevant to their own franchise. Now if we ever do see a MLP card, you know it's going to involve brushing a MLP toy. Maybe for a power/toughness boost? Or lifegain? Actually, I'd like to see a whole cycle of MLP cards that use the brushing mechanic for on-tribe effects. Pegasus? Grants flying. Unicorn? Make your next spell cheaper. Or maybe...
A cycle of Mane Six legendary creature cards?
Twilight Sparkle: Draw a card. Then if you control six or more Ponies, transform ~.
Princess Twilight: Draw a card for each Pony you control.
Applejack: Pony creatures you control get +1/+1 until end of turn. Untap those creatures.
Pinkie Pie: When you cast your next spell this turn, exile cards from the top of your library until you exile a nonland card that costs less. You may cast it without paying its mana cost. Then put the exiled cards on the bottom of your library in a random order.
Rainbow Dash: Target creature gains first strike, flying, and haste until end of turn.
Fluttershy: Create a 1/1 white Rabbit creature token. Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, you may gain 1 life.
Rarity: Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal an Equipment card. Put that card into your hand, then put the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

See, now, this is exactly what I was worried about. It's bad enough when someone pulls out cringe-worthy playmats or sleeves... I don't want to have to declare blockers against a My Little Pony card.
So, it's cringe-worthy because it's feminine? Maybe you should try being a little less judgmental of things that aren't robots, dragons, or soldiers with guns.

Uh oh, careful there. This might turn into a discussion about equal representation in Magic and that sort of thing usually gets shut down by mods pretty quick. Wouldn't wanna upset the status quo with actual meaningful talk about being inclusive.
I think you're assuming I mean something about "cringe-worthy" that I don't mean. It's true, though, that I have a negative opinion of MLP fandom, and it has nothing to do with feminine vs. masculine. The nature of that fandom or what kind of sleeves cause discomfort among players is a pretty big derail though, so let’s not go there. Suffice to say that cross-brand product placement seems bad to me, but I’m glad for those who enjoy this kind of thing getting what they want.

Yes, actually. The baseline of being inclusive is just a simple rule – “don’t be a jerk” – and derailing this thread might qualify!
I apologize I broached the topic and I’ll stop now.
Anybody else hope the Sword of D&D heralds an Un Sword Cycle? They might each grant protection from a pair of creature types and get an effect when dealing combat damage.
It's unfortunate that they kept the bottom half of the border black, looks kinda weird, but I guess it has to be that way for the machine reader.
The humor style is good, functional with thematic humor.
I don't understand the Nerf War's background, shouldn't it be gold? I can't tell what it's supposed to be... Grimlock's back-side also has a unique background, curious.

I'm curious. If we aren't supposed to discuss inclusiveness in Magic in the threads where the topic naturally arises, where are we supposed to do it? Isn't discussing the lack of typically feminine brands present in these promos pretty relevant to this post? It affects the way some people feel about the cards, doesn't it? How is bringing up this specific topic "derailing" discussion when it clearly surrounds the spoiled cards in question?
Oh, and mods, feel free to ban me if I'm being too "SJW." I don't mind making another account.
Personally I don't see how Nerf and Transformers are any less cringe-worthy than My Little Pony would be. Dungeons and Dragons is a tiny bit better because it least it is thematically similar but I find this whole thing just kind of crass and pandering. Not for me I guess.
That, and though Transformers and Nerf are owned by the parent company and they're made for the big Hasbro convention, I'm fine with them. D&D is made by Wizards directly (and this isn't the first time there's been crossover - see the 'Plane Shift' articles on how to do D&D stuff in Magic planes); now it's the other way around. And it's generic enough that it's not objectionable.

It's at a con promoting all the Hasbro brands, so all this cross-pollination makes sense.
Personally, I have long dreamed of a cycle of dinosaur golems that was a homage to the Dinobots, so bring me Grimlock and other Transformers.

Intensity, Integrity, Intelligence, Personified and Penguinified.
I'm not a un-player by any stretch, nor am I going to be able to get these, so take my opinions lightly. I know 2 of them aren't in Un-Stable, but I'm just going to rate them as though they were (because how else am I going to grade these silver-bordered cards?)
Besides the fact they don't like randomness (rolling the d20) in black-bordered, Sword of Dungeons and Dragons could easily have been black-bordered (yes I know the token is monogold, but that's so easily changed to official black-bordered color(s) so I don't count it as a preventive factor.). But all in all, a fine fun-card. It's going to be in Un-Stable, so not much missing out.
Nerf War is fine with me. Call me lazy or unfun, but I personally never liked un-cards that required a lot of physical movement (so if I were to play un-cards I wouldn't play with cards like Nerf War personally). But I clearly can see there are people who like it (and the necessity for it in a Nerf-reference), so I don't mind the card, it just falls under the category of un-cards I personally will not consider using.
As an EDH player (and the known information we have about Ixalan), Grimlock looks like the most fun of the lot - Tribal Dinosaur AND vehicles (because I highly doubt Ixalan will have Vehicles for a similar Commander). Any EDH deck with Grimlock at the helm without Untethered Express in the deck should automatically lose every game. While I wouldn't say it alone makes me wish I could get the set (because as mentioned earlier I have no interest in Nerf War and Sword of D&D is accessible from Unstable), if I ever come across a lone copy for sale, I would be heavily tempted to get it.
Gridlock is cool and all (and since ixlan dinos/vehicles are around)
You can put Monarchy cards in with Grimlock and he becomes KING GRIMLOCK! that's flavorful as well to his lore.
Should have been Optimus and I'll be sad if Unset doesn't have the Commander convoy / Optimus Prime flip card!
I think you're assuming I mean something about "cringe-worthy" that I don't mean. It's true, though, that I have a negative opinion of MLP fandom, and it has nothing to do with feminine vs. masculine.
Well, whatever is "wrong" with the MLP fandom is "wrong" with every fandom. Bad fanfics? R34*? Fetishy R34*? Grimdark fanart? Bigoted/hateful/otherwise bad comments? You'll find that stuff in any fandom, including this one. Instead of hating an entire fandom and its franchise, try understanding that immature, idiotic, and downright creepy "fans" are unfortunately one of those endemic evils of fandom itself, and it doesn't mean everyone in the fandom applies to the negative stereotypes. Personally, I love the positive parts of MLP and its fandom; the adorable characters, the fanart ranging from funny to gorgeous, the inspired fanmade music, the fangames. There's a lot of effort put into the better parts of the fandom, as with any fandom, including this one.
*I don't necessarily consider these bad, but there is a degree of responsibility to be exercised as with any adult content.

I would be down for that!!! My idea for a "Spider-Man and his Amazing Transformer Friends" comic would finally come to pass!

It's not gold, it's colorless.
Selling some cards I don't want.
Generally less than tcg mid.

Change it to coin flipping and the card works perfectly in black border.
