Transformers® and Nerf® give the impression that Unstable is focused on promoting other products. Dungeons and Dragons too, I guess, though that's less glaring.
These cards are being released at a Hasbro Con. The Transformer and Nerf cards will not be in Unstable.
Do you guys think "Gold" will be Unstable's version of "Snow"?
Unlikely. There are more than five colors in silver-bordered world; Water Gun Balloon Game creates pink creature tokens, while Avatar of Me could potentially be any color (like, literally, any color...blue, red, brown, hazel, etc).

I wonder if you can make Grimlock your general and it pumps all DFc's e.g. "transformers". Well if you can argue that in your casual group I think you can.
That fold dragon foil is pimp. I'm pretty sure that is unattainable for me but yeah that's a great collectible.

I think, pleasingly enough, that that's what the text actually means (creatures that are double-faced cards) in a jokey, referential Un- way.

It should be pretty attainable. Only the Nerf and Grimlock cards are HasCon exclusives, the sword and token are part of the new Un set, , which is already on record as having foil tokens. I doubt it goes for more than a few dollars.
I guess you have to hand it to them; it took Wizards over 20 years to put product placement in Magic: The Gathering. It's an Un-set, and it's fine, and if people like these great, no sweat. More power to everyone printing and buying these cards. I'm not hating.
But, I do find these cards pretty repulsive. What's next? Shield of Pepsi? The Star Wars MTGO set? I mean, c'mon. This is some 15-year-old-with-Magic-Set-Editor level stuff going on here.

You'll see that when Pepsi and SW become Hasbro properties.

Sword of D&D is the only Unstable card of the bunch, and, to be fair, it's the only one without a trademark. Silver border land is no stranger to pop culture references that aren't necessarily related to MTG (B-I-N-G-O, Knight of the Hokey Pokey, Farewell to Arms, Goblin Secret Agent, etc.), so a lawyer-friendly name drop that doesn't specifically mention any D&D products is more of a logical next step than anything else. Booster packs already contain advertisements anyways.
The other two are pretty much expected for convention exclusives at a con specifically designed to sell Hasbro products.

Hah, I was wondering if they were going to include a nerf gun and a transformer toy with every booster box of Unstable...but there goes that theory I guess. I'd love to see the Nerf War card in action.

There goes my chance of getting Grimlock!

The box set will be available for sale at the show, but it's included with your admission if you bought the MtG Deluxe package.
You'll see that when Pepsi and SW become Hasbro properties.
Thank goodness!
Pretty sure Disney would have to buy Hasbro because there is no way Disney will let Star Wars go.

Except the Pepsi card will obviously be Pepsiman.
Maybe it'll be Pepsi Convoy, so we can play it in our Grimlock decks!
