This looks like a product they want on Wal-Mart/Toys R Us shelves, similar to Pokemon EX-boxes. These aren't (really) for established players, but for parents buying for their kids/grandkids/nephews/nieces.
As an established player, I'm definitely considering picking up one of these. Boosters are generally full of crap, so I'm actually happy to see some really nice looking promo lands available in these, as well as the two promo creatures.
Plus we still get three packs to enjoy opening.
How many are you going to buy? I'm assuming you'd want more than one of some of the lands lol.
I wonder if WOTC is going to pull off a Pokemon TCG and release 15 of these per year hahaha.
Secondly, I wonder what kind of knick knacks future releases will have.

Knowing that some players will buy anything with the Wizards logo on it, I'd guess they will let Mark Rosewater take a dump in each box, throw in a d20 with 2 packs of cards in it and charge $29.99 MSRP.

This is a terrible product. Established players who like the lands will be paying $20 for 4 foil lands and a lot of land fill.
Kids getting product will get scattered cards from 3 different sets and 2 not so awesome rares.
I'm in the pool with people who liked the 'holiday box'. The timing of this product is what makes us think the box is dead.
I like the size of the boxes for storage and the dividers/stickers. The packs just make the value right where I'll buy one to expand my storage.

If this is a new player product it needed to be cohesive and provide decent cards and same set packs. Put most of a deck in them and make it fun for new players not just a scattershot of crap. More WotC stupidity in marketing.

True true, out of all the C16 Mark Poole lands I liked the Island the most.
RTR - Blue, Theros - Green, Khans - Red, BFZ - White, SOI - Black. Is that correct? Where does Kaladesh fit in (or does it)?
Kaladesh is the Spring set so doesn't fit in. If this were a regular Holiday Box I believe it would have been Ixalan, or maybe to get more sales Hours of Devastation with an earlier release. A red box with Bolas on the top would have been really nice

I got the old boxes because of the storage size and the boosters were a great bonus to justify my purchase. If this were $15 I could justify it, but $20 isn't close.

I personally believe hasbro is milking WotC for higher and higher profit margins at the cost of all of us. MTG is one of their highest profit properties, and its carrying all their other bullsht that hasbro just needs to drop.

I was specifically trying to figure out which Magic colour each box corresponded with. I'm well aware of what colours the boxes themselves are.
For myself-
RtR - Blue
Theros - Green
KTK - Red
BfZ - White (only on one side, but still)
SOI - Black
KLD - Artifacts
Maybe this is just random,
but if it is, it certainly works for me
