All I can really say is cool. As its got an alright body for three mana, gains you 2 and then 4 life. But you know? It might actually have a home in standard alongside Crested Sunmare.
This is quite solid, I was afraid it would be another Eternalize for 6. The discard isn't ideal, but at least it can set up further graveyard shenanigans.
Shame about the discard. Is otherwise quite a decent uncommon as a poor man's Kitchen Finks. Will be decent in limited I'm sure.
I didn't see that added cost at first, but since 4/4 for 4 plus 4 life is more than fair, and it's a free card, it's still decent at least and fairly good most of the time.

I think the problem with it is it's not a free card.
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.

Right. It will still feel pretty good if you discard an otherwise dead and late game land with it. Might even just generally be OK to discard another card with Eternalize or Embalm or Aftermath.

Crested Sunmare really wants enablers you can use on the turn you lay it and/or the opponents turn, and this is neither. It could slot in if that deck was lacking for playable lifegain, but it would have to stand on its own merits as it doesn't form a relevant combo.
Ewww this feels so hamstrung. I would have rather just paid 5 or 6 even to eternalize this instead of having to discard. And like... I don't even think paying 4 to bring out a 4/4 from your graveyard that gains you 4 is busted by any stretch, it sounds solid. It might be okay in limited but I'm not a fan of this one.

Eternalize IS ACTUALLY card advantage already. I think more of them are correctly costed than not. Unearth was supposed to be about half as cheap cost-wise. But then again, we only have one iteration of Eternalize and Unearth. In future, they would probably make tweaks and adjustment as needed. Let's not forget they got burnt in Kaladesh (low crew cost, energy).

And this is why people complaining about WotC's card balancing abilities rarely have a leg to stand on, because if such people were in charge of card creation every block would be Urza block. No, a cantripping Obstinate Baloth is not "solid"; it's absolutely horrifying.

Meh... Discard an aftermath or another eternalize card, and you're doing a-ok.
I'm more upset that there aren't more eternalize cards with similar activation cost reduction abilities. 6CMC is seemingly too much for most of them.

I mean what's a fair cost for a 4/4 that says "draw a card"? Eternalize is card advantage.
