Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
I have to wonder how playable Tragic Lesson is. Instant speed draw is great, especially at three, and sometimes the cost of returning a land isn't all that difficult to meet.
The art on Tragic Lesson and Life Goes On are really good. It's so weird to see such being on the ground dead, really drives the dread and partly hope home.
In any sort of blue deck, I can see using a full set of Tragic Lesson--drawing 2 cards during your opponent's end step is always good, whether you are subsequently discarding a card or not. It may not be quite as useful as Hieroglyphic Illumination but it does cost less.
It kinda feels like the same story as with the Eldrazi, theres even a bunch of as-good-as reprints in the form of the lands.
The dying Gods make for some powerful story cards, really tragic.
But the people fighting back on Nicol Bolas ?
Thats more like a joke if you see what he is doing and what kind of horrors await them.
Samut is like leading them all to die ... completely pointless and the fact they are not dead at the moment should make them grateful and not rush to die.

Anyway, the Stalwart looks kinda strange as its not remotely muscular and that is just a bad art for a female in that kind of card (it kinda looks silly), its strange.
Simply feels odd with ripping that stone pillar out of the ground.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

I could see it as a sort of mini-gush. If you would miss a land drop it is kind of a 2 mana draw 2.

Considering they live on a plane with the Curse of Wandering, I would think that just about everything should feel pointless.

This is almost a functional reprint of Holdout Settlement
I think they drew it weird. It looks like he's like nine feet in this depiction.
Also, Life Goes On could be good if RDW or some other aggro deck becomes a thing. Very low threshold to get 8 life.

Life Goes On + Renewed Faith + lifelink creatures + Felidar Sovereign = a possible game plan.
The green 2-drop is an average green 2-drop--not great, but not bad, either.
The Naga Vitalist approves of the Survivors' Encampment.

The Seer of the Last Tomorrow is what I wanted to see, a creature that mills.
Rhonas's Stalwart is alright as its harder to chump block.
Tragic Lesson should see play in some lists.
Why hello there Life Goes On. So if I swing and my sacred cat gets blocked by a 1/1, I gain 1 life, then I cast this and gain 9 more? Seems nice.
So do I, and I love the flavor text.

I don't know, I just don't like the name of that card. At least it's in sync with it's effect: it sucks.
Survivors's Encampment is another fine Desert for the Ramunap Hydra deck, joining Desert of the Indomitable and Hashep Oasis. Shoot, it's a good Desert in general. And for about three months, it's in Standard alongside Holdout Settlement, and should get about eighteen months with Ornithopter and Aether Hub. Standard Colorfixing is actually looking pretty good right now. We might even see some four or five color decks.

"Though Kefnet's followers feverishly searched his last words for some final riddle, they found only the gurgles of a dying god. But Life Goes On."
Shoot, for a green lifegain card LGO is brutally blunt in general.
Poor little Gossamer devoured by a demon? Life Goes On.
Avacyn gone mad and unmade by her creator? Life Goes On.
People slaughtered and Sea Gate ruined by the Eldrazi? Life Goes On.
Mirrodin compleated by Phyrexians? Life Goes On.
Gods killed and Naktamun ruined? Life Goes On.
Gatewatch defeated by Nicol Bolas and subject to the Hour of Devastation? Life. Goes. On.
I'm sensing that this card is going to become a meme.
