In a quick Google I couldnt find anything in Egyptian myth that referemced horses other than a god of horses but the Greeks had immortal horses in their myth and we know there was a lot of cultural mixing between the Egyptians and the Greeks.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Is it wrong I wish this was vigilance or first strike or something else > indestructible? Indestructible has been watered down like Gideon ... yeah, yeah... another Gideon who turns into a creature... an indestructible creature... blah blah blah.
I find myself hoping this is the first in a multiblock cycle, as they give each color one big quasi-obscure-tribe mythic that makes big tokens with an on-color keyword triggered by an easy on-color condition.
A big green Elk that grants Elks hexproof, and makes an Elk token at the end of any turn in which a creature you controlled dealt damage.
A big red Manticore that grants Manticores haste, and makes a Manticore token at the beginning of any combat of any turn in which an instant or sorcery you controlled dealt damage.
A big black Wraith that grants Wraiths deathtouch, and makes a Wraith token at the end of any turn in which any creature died.
A big blue Salamander that grants Salamanders prowess, and makes a Salamander token at the end of any turn in which you drew a card other than the-first-in-your-draw-step.
Well at least thanks to the Ixalan leaks everyone knows that arcane adaptation is coming so this won't spike massivly when it gets spoiled in a few months cause OMG all my creatures are indestructible now.
My buddy's wife plays with our group every once in a while. She actually has an Abzan Horse themed deck that rocks any art with people on horses. This is perfect for her but I never expected it
Don't think of this as a Horse tribal card. That's not what it is. The reason it's such a powerful effect is because Horses are such a marginal creature type. I doubt we'd see such an efficiently costed creature giving all other Elves indestructible and creating 5/5 Elf tokens every turn. It buffs its tokens, that's all it needs to do.
Rant off. Let me actually read the card now. So by gaining life I can get a 5/5 indestructible creature at my end step? Lifegain is trivial--sign me up. The Lone Rider approves.
Just to be clear, this doesn't work. You need to gain before the End Step or the trigger won't go onto the stack at all due to the "intervening if" clause.
However, this seems like a really good card. A 5/5 for 5 that requires little more than the use of a gain land or something with Lifelink and you can start pumping out 5/5 indestructible horses.

I can see that I didn't make it clear that the expectation was that I would somehow gain life before the end step. Yes, that assessment is correct--if the life gain doesn't happen before the end step then no horse token. I used Lone Rider only as an example because it has first strike and lifelink, so even if it dies in combat I still gained life when it blocks; the fact that it is riding a horse--or becomes a "horse"? horrorrse? difficult to figure the transformed creature out--is entirely coincidental.

Actually, that was my fault. I misread Lone Rider thinking you gained life in the End Step. So, Lone Rider works well enough

Yeah, this does seem like a Theros card. Actually, couldn't it be reprinted in Theros?

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

Maybe, there will be more horses in the next block? One can dream.
