I thought this topic title was a joke until I saw the card appear in the HoD spoiler section....
I think for Standard this should not be thought of as "Horse tribal" so much as "Lifegain tribal". Turn a Sacred Cat sideways, drop this postcombat, get an indestsructible 5/5 end of turn. Maybe it goes in the tokens deck? The indestructibility means your opponent has to deal with this card separately before they can Fumigate your galloping army. (And if you get two of these out...well...tough luck to your opponent unless they're running Declaration in Stone.)
Notable that it has the magical 5 toughness and 5 CMC that together dodge a lot of Standard-playable removal. It's unfortunate that there's no Radiant Fountain or similar land in Standard (unless I'm forgetting something) that you could drop Turn 5 before playing this to get an easy trigger, but lifelink creatures will do the job.
This + Arcane Adaptation + Kitty Lord seems kind of disgusting. Good thing they're all 5 drops, but Arcane Adaptation basically allows this guy to make all your other creatures indestructible.
(In case anyone forgot/didn't know what Arcane Adaptation does):
2U
Enchantment
As Arcane Adaptation enters the battlefield, choose a creature type.
Creatures you control are the chosen type in addition to their other types. The same is true for creature spells you control and creature cards you own that aren't on the battlefield.
I love tribal decks, but when they print a lord that has a grand total of 23 members in its tribe (only 3 on-color), it feels weird. As "lifegain tribal", it seems useful, but why horses?
The Ixalan leaks (Arcane Adaptation and Vanquisher's Banner) and Metallic Mimic are going to adore this card. Turn all my creatures into horses, which happen to be indestructible with this card on board? YES PLEASE!
Hooray for obscure tribal support! I never would have guessed this in a million years, but I'm glad to see Wizards doing this kind of thing more. I hope it continues.
When I read the title of this thread, my first thought was "horse tribal?!", then I thought "Oh wait, no, that's just the stupid name of blog or something that's previewing this card".
This card is broken and it looks like Maro's very proud of his baby too. So pretty much a 2 card combo... 2 Crested Sunmares, or 1 and a copy, that is neigh unbearable...
There are plenty of cheap lifegain throughout abzan colors.
Lets see... exile effects. Anguished I Just Cut Off 3 Of My Toes 1BW, Hour of glory 3B, and a few assorted blue pick that up spells/counterspell.
5 CMC and 5 toughness makes this thing very hard to deal with... and NOT legendary. I really don't get that last part. Why isn't it legendary?
Avacyn is legendary, consistency thrown out the window. I can hear the pros scrabbling to break this completely by prerelease day.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
I'm... guessing this is a reference to Egyptian mythology that I'm not familiar with? A bizarre but fascinating card.
The Ancient Egyptians was one of the first people who tamed the horse, of course, they only used it to pull chariots into battle, still...
On topic, love the card. Good to see some of the lesser tribes get some love. Now to break out the Armored Warhorse and Hipparion...
Looks kind of like it was a jackal that they turned into a horse at the last minute (hooves and nose). Alternatively, it could be some kind of weird Set reference.
As weird as the animal is, I really like the dust/shadow horse in the background.
Is it wrong I wish this was vigilance or first strike or something else > indestructible? Indestructible has been watered down like Gideon ... yeah, yeah... another Gideon who turns into a creature... an indestructible creature... blah blah blah.
This is kind of neat. Horse tribal, lifegain build-around, solid (but not stupid) stats, etc. I don't know that we can call this a "well designed" card, but it's not utter garbage, so...
I think Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim may be among the best in Standard to pair it with. She can activate on your turn, and the opponents, for maximum equine effect. She can cash in horses for 5 life a pop, creating another in the process, and eventually turn your stream of tokens into a stream of Vindicates.

This'll go great in Frontier with all the Creature - Horse Vehicles in Core 2024.

Too bad it doesn't also cover Pegasi and Unicorns. An army of indestructible Pegasi would be an adorable terror.
This Horse resides in a stable built from Walls of Reverence, its foals raised in Cradles of Vitality and sung to sleep by an Angelic Chorus lead by an Archangel of Thune.

Get 2 tokens and you attack for 15 on the first swing.
Thats pretty "disgusting" , so you really want some form of reliable life gain in each turn (lifelink creatures do the trick, on attack/blocking).

Its not a Thragtusk against removal, but if its turned on, its really turned on.
