I like how it's a strictly better coercion. It will definitely see play in limited, but I wonder if a three mana sorcery speed edict is enough to make up for the late game uselessness of a three mana discard spell in standard.

People are seriously underestimating the flexibility of the card.
Sure, it's something you board out for decks trying to go wide, but it can take out a big creature on a lonely board, or it can screw with an opponent's hand. Versatility is definitely worth the increased mana cost.
Best card name in the set. Just couldn't stay away from those great doomy dooms of doom, eh?

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

Awww, I'm gonna sing the Doom Song.
Now about the card, it's definitely good for Limited, it's a very strong play in the early stages of the game, though it loses value if there's any token producer on the board, so I'm not sure I'd prefer this to Unburden, either way it's solid for Limited.
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
we actually have NOT seen all the invocations yet as we have yet to see the most glorious one yet which will no doubt the God Pharaoh in his true form. May his spoiling come swiftly.

Discard tends to lose its punch later on,
and the ability to use this one as removal really helps!

Control needs more love.

This card is fine. Good pick in limited.

Apparently not. I'm literally waiting for the "Bolas" set to have more artwork of him in it.

In what format is exiling worse?
True, but there is at least two of "his" arts that are NOT from invocations, as we know all of them already.
This is the one I thought to see on Doomfall. Or this one.

I deem the art from your first link worthy.

Either force a opponent to exile a creature
Or a exile version of Thoughtseize lovely.
The Scarab God card has yet to be spoiled. That's 54.
