Pretty good in Kaalia of the Vast too, make sure you hit Demon/Angel/Dragon every turn in late game
He would be good for the occasional tutoring, but competitive Kaalia decks usually don't have a large supply of creatures or token producers, so tutoring every turn is probably not going to happen often. Griselbrand is still better, but it's banned for good reasons.
Shame they couldn't do anything with the "Blood Magic" he was showing in story. Pay life and Sac a creature to gain control of one, or something like that.
That only works on Liliana, because of their contract. Doesn't seem like something he can just do willy nilly.
He's also responsible for literally turning the entire Luxa River into blood. Like, Blood Magic is clearly a thing of his. Maybe he can't do it willy nilly, but nothing in story seems to suggest he tutors you.
he did give Liliana exactly what she wanted. Then she repayed him by eating him. The ingrate.
Tarmogoyf is unplayable vanilla garbage in EDH. Jace, the Mind Sculptor is an expensive diversion for one or two creatures in EDH.
Lots of cards suck in EDH. We just get to tap more potential out of some cards than other formats do.
And I will be running this demon in Kaalia, Jarad, and possibly a few other decks.

You always can sac Kaalia for more profit
You are correct, and I had thought about that. However, if you send Kaalia to the Commander Zone as a result of the sacrifice action, you will increase the Commander tax. It's fine for the occasional tutoring, but that wouldn't be a reliable way of tutoring every turn as cdmagic was saying. The tax would just become too high to use Kaalia as an engine. There is a more roundabout way if you send Kaalia to the graveyard and reanimate it and then sacrifice her again, but you need a recurring reanimation engine and you have to spend mana to reanimate her. I just think that this new demon would require modifications to a typical Kaalia build to support tutoring shenanigans.
I like it, but I don't love it. I have been looking forward to these last two demons for a loooong time. The ability is definitely cool, yet it still seems uninspired to me. Razaketh feels like a bit of a thrown in with everything else going on in the set. I'm beginning to wish that he wasn't on Amonkhet at all, and that Lili's demons had a more dedicated story/set. The way he was utilized is rather disappointing. Oh well, I will still pick one up at some point to continue my Liliana collection. I reeeeeeeally hope they print a card depicting Lili and Razaketh together to continue the unofficial cycle of Lili and a her demons on spells ie Demonic Tutor and Dark Petition...

Oh my, I used Razaketh for several custom card designs and none of them were remotely this bad in design or constructed power.
This is really the burned-by-griselbrand R&D isn't it?
Also thanks to that flavor text, I'm officially labeling this guy the "Quota Demon"
He only exists to be #3 of 4. Thats the extent of his characterization
I think this demon has the potential to be completely absurd. If you land him, you can just tutor up for your 5 card instant win pile you need if you can get any board presence whatsoever.

Come watch me stream over at my twitch channel. I play Loam Pox, Ad Nauseam, and jank in modern on MTGO.
Considering how fast Grizzlebees got stuffed on the Commander banned list, never to return, I don't foresee this bad boy being legal for long.
Also, holy hell that flavor text is inexcusable. Ancient Grudge, eat your heart out.
If Griselbrand had sacrifice another creature tacked onto its draw, it wouldn't have been banned. It would be a strong card, but not draw limitless cards anytime it's on the battlefield.
Razaketh seems ridiculous...until your opponent plays him on turn 6 in Limited after setting up a little ramp.
It is ridiculous that Liliana can resurrect him onto the battlefield but it is what it is.
And Razaketh can sac the zombie tokens she makes. It just might work in standard afterall. It's a lousy replacement for Emrakul in BG Delirium builds, but it's still pretty effective as a beater in those decks.
Flavor text is terribad, but the card works good in a dedicated ramp/re-an deck. Possibly a Sultai midrange build of some sort. The only question is what creatures in standard would we want to target? Ulamog is always the first to come to mind. Razaketh also combos with Liliana, Death's Majesty and The Scarab God.

If this works, it will chain counterspells or some annoying card and kill you right away.
If this doesnt work, its just a 8/8 flyer, which is boring.
It involves shuffling, which is never fun ...
Potentially A LOT of shuffling, even more annoying.
----
Would have liked it to do something else than a Tutor, anything that doesnt involve shuffling.
For sure no Griselbrand, its simply an overall worse card (which isnt really a surprise as Griselbrand is ridiculous).
