This is incredibly good. If this wasn't an aftermath card (both sides being one card instead) it could still see play. The versatility is what makes it.
I can see this card becoming one of the most expensive cards in the set, at uncommon, just like fatal push and censor to some extent. I will give WotC credit on this; they are making much better uncommons. Too bad they are better than the rares
Love this card. Would love for it to fit in to Standard. BG? Zombies? BR or BW aggro? Seems excellent with Thalia's Lieutenant.
Zombies for certain. Only yesterday I was thinking that I might put Raise Dead--legal in Standard, thank you Welcome Deck--into Zombies because 1) it's inexpensive and 2) I can recur a creature and cast it for 2 to 4 mana. That idea is now off the table because this card is much better, even if I am not using red for the aftermath.
So if you "Claim" a Snapcaster Mage, can it target the original claim to flash it back to bring back another snapcaster?
As I understand, you can Claim a Snapcaster, snap back the claim with the etb, and get another creature.

I mean, this *can* bring back Walking Ballista. With X=0, so it'll be a 0/0 creature that goes away before any player gets priority. But yeah, you can.
Panda Express (Enduring Renewal combo deck) has been doing that for profit with Orzhov Charm, but for the overwhelming majority of decks, temporarily reviving a 0/0 creature is of very little benefit.
Hahaha-- what if that's my opponent? ***Flips the table***

This is supposed to be the joke.
If there weren't actually people out there who think "I can activate its ability before it dies and save it" or "I can declare it as an X=1 2-cost creature so it enters as a 1/1" it would be easier to assume the joke.
Besides, I still wanted a platform to say that there is a deck that has been doing that deliberately, despite it being fail most of the time. In fact I wonder if Panda Express will actually begin to adopt this card in place of Orzhov Charm - less versatility by losing the other two modes, but cheaper and being able to alternately recover 2-drops like Blood Artist / Zulaport Cutthroat.
I'm a huge fan of Nimble Obstructionist, It just does so much. It's a 3/1 flash flying for 3, already good. You can disrupt your oppoenent's fetching (which early on can win you the game, 4 lands to 2 is pretty hard to pull back from) or abilities without losing a card. It can shut down ultimates from walkers, Fulminator Mage, Snappy, persist/undying, not to mention other less powerful but nonetheless meaningful abilities.
Not only that, you can threaten both on the same turn. Sign me up for a playset.

Well i just dropped $30 on a playset of Claim/Fame and Nimble Obstructionist, that's all my presale buys. Nothing else seems to interest me yet.

Isn't that the dream though? Good uncommons are affordable. By comparisson I dread the expensive pushed mythic rares that just get a multiplier to the price tag due to scarcity.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

That's a really good point. I would rather have bombs at rare and mythic that are interchangeable while the staples are common and uncommon, like the old days
And when they make a great card uncommon they tend to also issue it as an FNM promo, too (see Aether Hub and Fatal Push). They don't do that for rares these days.
Not only that, but when you have better commons and uncommons, the set feels better. It's one thing to have a set with a few high value mythic and rares, it's another thing to have a set that you open and think, wow, the average power level is pretty high.
Take BFZ compared to Oath, BFZ had trash uncommons and commons, even rares in some cases. The only thing that made the set good was a few mythics Oath of the Gatewatch not only created a monster deck in modern, which still exists in T1 to some extent, it also gave us lots of cool unique commons and uncommons.

I didn't think they'd print a 1 cmc reanimation spell of any kind in standard but damn I'm not complaining.

That's gross. Snap, Claim Snap, Claim Death's Shadow?
The actual sequence is: death's shadow, fatal push, claim the death's shadow, fatal push, snapcaster mage the claim targeting death's shadow, opponent flips the table, quits Magic, then Wizards bans something.
I about flipped my table at work.
