"Isn't the shortest route through the canyon?"

"No."
'Sphinx spells you cast cost 2 less to cast.' on a card that costs 6 mana to cast...
Gameplay-wise, it's there to finally lead your janky, casual sphinx edh-tribal deck and that's about it, nothing else to see here. What irritates me the most is how come this thing is NOT a sphinx goat, I mean just look at it!
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
'Sphinx spells you cast cost 2 less to cast.' on a card that costs 6 mana to cast...
The whole point I guess is that you can loop sphinxes with this in play. If every 3-originally-5-mana sphinx gets you another 3-originally-5-mana sphinx, you can start playing two sphinxes a turn. Or yo can hold up Counterspell mana while putting big threats into play. You know, just in case the 4/4 for 6 gets to live until your next turn. And if it does not, you at least got a super-Impulse off of it!
Legendary monoblue sphinx that doesn't suck, my prayers have been heard! Although I was just getting fond of the idea of letting Kefnet lead my Sphinx deck in EDH...

It always a good thing to seek to unnerstand your enemy. You gotta walk a mile in his shoes to unnerstand him, right? Dat way, if he still your enemy, you a mile away and you got his shoes.

Good draw in multiples. The second one costs you 2UU and you get two mini Fact or Fiction triggers. Leave the original and beatdowns for 4 after you most likely draw four. I could see this being a finisher in Control decks due to the sheer selective card advantage of top decking the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th copies. It has to compete with Gearhulk, which has a faster clock, flash, and more spell versatility though, so, it might never see play as that finisher.
Also worth mentioning that Curator of Mysteries would become a 4/4 flier for UU. Lot of other Sphinxes are 5 CMC. While this guy is not efficiently costed, he definitely makes the rest of the Sphinxes very efficiently costed.
Eh, it's fine that they're doing Sphinx tribal and support EDH in regular sets and the abilites are cool and all, but ... mono-U? I would want my sphinx commander to be WUB at least.

I'm amazed there hasn't been eight posts going "Maybe one of the decks in this years commander is Sphinx tribal", bravo folks.
As for the card itself, 6 mana does seem a little high for this. 5 seems right for the effect and a 4/4 or for 6 it could have been a bit bigger than it is, but overall I do like this card. The sphinx tribal support does seem a tad tacked on, but I have no problem with it.
As for the rest, this is obviously meant to be a Sphinx tribal Commander. Not sure why anyone would be miffed at it.
Well, if you'd followed the thread (or searched for Sphinxes - Sphinxii? (Googles) - apparently Sphinges) you'd realise that a lot of good Sphinges are white/blue and a number of the ones from Alara are Esper. Thus, it's really, really poor as a Sphinx Commander.

Edit: Abolutely nuts with Argent Sphinx plus all the artifact based ramp that you`re going to need anyway.
Stay reasonable, be mindful of your expectations and don't feed the trolls.

Except 'Legendary'?
You would sacrifice one but still get both the original and 2nd copies trigger.
