Of course, Sphinx Commander Decks already have Isperia the Inscrutable as their commander who can fetch this one...

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
This isnt a commander product. They can't just randomly throw some three color card into a set, especially when the Grixis wedge is the highlight because of Bolas. One Esper card in the set would be awkward from a design standpoint, and it would also make the card nearly worthless everywhere but EDH. Limited is a thing.
As for the rest, this is obviously meant to be a Sphinx tribal Commander. Not sure why anyone would be miffed at it.
Well, if you'd followed the thread (or searched for Sphinxes - Sphinxii? (Googles) - apparently Sphinges) you'd realise that a lot of good Sphinges are white/blue and a number of the ones from Alara are Esper. Thus, it's really, really poor as a Sphinx Commander.
I followed the thread; thanks, though, for the patronization. If you believe that a Tribal Commander requirement is that it allows you to play most (80%+)of the cards of that tribe, it's clear that WotC doesn't agree with you. I would give feedback if that is the case. As it is, my cursory glance is that you can put 29 Sphinxes into Unesh's deck of the 40 that exist. That is roughly 75%. Given that you probably don't want to put 29 almost all high cost cards in a tribal deck, I'm not sure what to tell you.
With what else we know, though:
The blue Conspiracy card in Ixalan, though, might explain some of the issues with Unesh, power-wise.
Well Unesh isn't going to take me off of Sharuum Esper for my sphinx tribal deck but I will find room for him/her/it.
It's worth noting that my Sphinx (Spinghes? Really?) is reanimator so the to the yard pile may as well be going to hand. I imagine that's part of what kept Unesh out of B
I like how people posting on mythicspoiler.com are loving this guy, and people here don't like him. Personally, I see myself possibly building a cheap commander deck with him, just for fun though.
You can still cast it postcombat just for the double ETB-trigger - which is four mana for (if you force raw card advantage) four cards with some chance at selection (and a freshly untapped Sphinx in case you want a blocker). It's a more proactive play than what you usually get to do with your second copy of a legendary card (hold it until the original dies and you can cast the new copy), so it seems like the poster wants to point out that this - despite being legendary - doesn't have your second copy automatically turn into a dead card thanks to a combination of applying cost reduction at double ETB-trigger.
And I personally agree the second copy actually makes for a decent spell despite leaving no additional body.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

Why did WotC stop printing great reanimate targets? WHYYYY???
I ask the same thing, but in regards with why they stopped printing good reanimate cards, like reprinting Reanimate again for example.
That`s probably because the existing cards are already so good that they`re near broken? I mean Entomb, Reanimate and Exhume are off the hinges in efficiency.

You stated you weren't sure why anyone would be miffed at it - I provided you with the reason people are miffed. While it is true that 75% of the sphinges could be used when it is your commander - most of the really power ones can't. That said there's a WU Legendary Commander that works better in a Sphinx deck anyway, so it's really moot overall. This is useful as a supporting card for a Sphinx Commander deck - not as the commander.

Yeah, I see where you are coming from and I do agree.
Though sphinx tribal really isn't a simic thing, amonkhet definitely had a simic ramp thing going on to where this could be very good. As it stands this creature is underwhelming, but I don't think it's overcosted. We are too spoiled with creatures, to the point that we don't evaluate them well. A 4/4 flier for 4cmc would be considered pretty good but not broken. Add almost fact or fiction to that, and it's repeatable with any blink effect or casting any other sphinx is definitely better than 1 cmc; that could add 2-3cmc minimum; which it did add 2. Then tack on making all other sphinxes cost 2 less is at least another 1 cmc. The truth is this card is undercosted for its stats and abilities; but again we have been way too spoiled by creatures. Throw this in a ramp deck like I stated earlier and fill the board with midrange fliers while constantly refilling your hand. That sounds pretty good to me.

Fair enough; sorry if I took your comment too antagonistically.
Gmiller: I think Ixalan will bring this card some new life.
I don't see the card becoming a EDH commander because it's mono-blue... but I can see it working as a general in a Blue/and 2 other color EDH deck with Changeling's... The Fact or Fiction ability will see play, especially from a 1 to 3 drop Changeling.
SPHINX TRIBAL! Question is, will he make it to Iconic Masters?
As scottjhebert explained, a Criosphinx is a sphinx with a goat or ram's head. Anyone who played Chrono Cross might remember a particular optional boss with a penchant for riddles. I wonder if we'll ever see a Hieracosphinx? Although, being a creature with a lion's body and a bird's head means it would essentially be a Griffin. A Griffin Sphinx?
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
I understand that they make limited room for gold cards, and they probably didn't want another shard represented with Nicol Bolas being the big draw of the set, but it is too bad they didn't just give it a B/W ability to give it an Esper identity... Something like Eternalize for 2BW would have been great. That way if you can get him into the gy turns 1 to 3 you can really take advantage of that Sphinx cost reducing ability. Oh well, I suppose.

As for Commander, he seems fine in tandem with the likes of Sphinx Ambassador, Sphinx of Uthuun, and Windreader Sphinx, but he should also work well in decks helmed by either Isperia, Medomai the Ageless, or Sharuum the Hegemon.
