This'll likely be weaker in Legacy and beyond, where opposing Deathrite Shamans have every reason to keep your graveyard land-free. (Hey, at least you can take away Deathrite targets in response!)
It should be said that you can't (I think) remove in response, since DS's ability is a mana ability -- so it doesn't use the stack.
I'm excited about this -- seems like an awesome manland for Modern.

I like this manland better in multicoloured decks than colourless Eldrazi decks (or Tron decks, etc.). Colourless Eldrazi decks don't tend to dump so many lands in the graveyard (they tend to be restricted to LD lands like Ghost Quarter or Wasteland, though I do have to admit that their lands will be bulldozed by opponents more often). Multicoloured decks dump fetchlands into the graveyard all the time in comparison.
Nah I doubt it. Grixis shadow is already only running 19 lands it would be pretty rough to add in any lands that don't make the colours. Upping the land count doesn't seem like a worthwhile tradeoff.

Either of those two options would be too powerful. It's an ability on a land after all.
This spoiler season, just like any others, again proves that it's impossible to please everyone: If cards are too powerful everyone shouts "power creep" and wants bans, but if they're not obviously pushed people ask why any given mana cost or ability couldn't have just cost 1 less.

Deathrites has a target, so it is not a mana ability and it will use the stack.
Its not a mana-ability only because it produces mana, that is more specific in magic.
