Land- Desert Rare
tap: add {C} to your mana pool
{2},exile a land card from you graveyard: ~ becomes a 3/4 element creature until end of turn. It is still land.
Interesting card, at any rate. Certainly doesn't riff well with the Ramunap Crucible of Worlds-on-a-body dude.
But I guess this has potential to be a 3/4 on Turn 3 in Standard?
Wait, what? Any land? This seems really good in Modern - there aren't many decks that run colorless lands alongside a fetchland manabase, but this is the most efficient manland ever printed - it's not like you'll be using it during the early turns, so by the time you're out of gas, you'll pretty reliably be able to use this. It might not have a home right now, but the power level is absolutely there.
As for Standard, it mostly depends on what support there is for the "Deserts in the graveyard" mechanic - this doesn't need other deserts, but with that rider on so many cards, there have to be enablers in the set for the Limited archetype to work. The question is whether they make those enablers Constructed-worthy.
This is pretty alright. If you're not running crucible or legs-crucible, this allows you to use the Bicycle lands and Fetchlands once they're in the yard.
Double nice is that it doesn't come into play tapped. This could be really sweet.
Damn, that's impressive. A very easy activation requirement to meet in older formats, not to mention that fourth point of toughness means it lives through bolt. Also pretty nice in standard if you can set it up.
I'm personally surprised this doesn't ETB tapped, not that I'm complaining though.
It really makes me wonder, is there a legendary creature that cares about deserts though? Cause that would be the cherry on top of this cake.
Honestly, only producing colorless severely neuters this, making it safe to be untapped. I mean, unlike most other manlands, this can defend the turn it's played, at a reasonable rate for a solid body. This is definitely a good card for competetive constructed formats.

Camel and Desert Nomads from Arabian Nights cares about deserts. Now why anyone would care about Camel or Desert Nomads, I have no clue. So there is exactly two non-Amonkhet block card that cares about deserts. Ironically the only desert outside of non-Amonkhet block is Desert from the same set originally.
Need this in my mono red aggro standard deck, I sometimes need to discard a land anyways, also it will work with the cycling land. Good card for control as well if you play many cycling lands.

No fetches but 3 or 4 Ghost Quarters and a Sanctum of Ugin (or Buried Ruin) could do the trick. Been thinking about colorless man lands a lot for EldraziTron. Will keep my eyes out on this one.

Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
People saying that its use is too narrow have obviously not had the common experience of a yard full of fetches in Modern.
Agreed. This is going to find a home somewhere in Modern.

This looks good enough in Modern after you crack a couple of fetches, maybe bin a Ghost Quarter/Tectonic Edge, and make your possibly hypothetical Knight of the Reliquary a 5/5 without even rigging your mana base.
This'll likely be weaker in Legacy and beyond, where opposing Deathrite Shamans have every reason to keep your graveyard land-free. (Hey, at least you can take away Deathrite targets in response!)
This is certainly not bad, with cycling lands, both duels and deserts, it won't be too hard to let this swing every once in a while in Standard. In Modern it has a much better chance of activating.
Yeaaaa this is clearly a Modern based card. In Standard, right now the only lands we have that go to the grave with ease are cycle lands - and while those are good, they're not fast enough. Modern is a whole different ballpark with all those fetches and I can see decks that aren't too heavy on the colours work one or two of these in.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Nah I doubt it. Grixis shadow is already only running 19 lands it would be pretty rough to add in any lands that don't make the colours. Upping the land count doesn't seem like a worthwhile tradeoff.
