Is it me or does that white card combo with Dark Depths?

Wow, another piece of graveyard hate when we also have that land as well.

Oh my GOD that flavor text on that artifact! That's the only reason why I like this set so far.

I wonder where we're going to see these "counters" coming from. I don't know if I would even put Solemnity in my side and I play RW.

That's two new cards that interact with Dark Depths... I think Dark Depths is going to get banned in legacy.

That enchantment is just another way to go infinite with persist creatures, right?

But I assume it doesn't work with devoted druid, since putting the counter on is part of the cost?

the white card is a nice answer to devoted druid and vizier of remedies.

using removal is probably a bether way to go though

If I'm thinking correctly, I think Solemnity shuts down infect harder than melira does. If you can't get counters but creatures attacking you have infect, they don't deal damage to you in any way. Melira, Sylvok Outcast makes them lose infect and deal real damage.

So, Geralf's Messenger + Solemnity + any sacrifice engine like Viscera Seer may become an alternative to persist combos w/ Melira?

The card's amazing against both Temur Energy and BG counters in Standard.

Solemnity looks fun with Delaying Shield.

Edit: Works with Force Bubble too.

Does solemnity work well with cumulative upkeep? You can't put an age counter on the permanent but you can still pay the cost equal to the number of age counters?

This and Phyrexian Unlife makes you invincible! ... Until they remove one of your enchantments that is heh.

Would this work with Cumulative Upkeep costs?

So what if they interact with it? They don't interact as well as the land and Crop Rotation like was mentioned in the other thread. They aren't as cheap as Vampire Hexmage either. Now, in Commander, I'm sure everyone can go crazy making indestructible flying 20/20s though.

The set should be called Hour of Haterade.

If the permanent has 0 age counters on it, then is it even possible to pay the cost? It seems like a potential situation like a no mana card where you can't pay the price, so you'd have to sacrifice the permanent, unless the cost is just 0. Not really sure, curious if there's a ruling on this.

Pretty sure it just nulls out Cumulative Upkeep costs.

The current wording on cumulative upkeep is as follows: "At the beginning of your upkeep, if this permanent is on the battlefield, put an age counter on this permanent. Then you may pay [cost] for each age counter on it. If you don’t, sacrifice it." Thus, it should work. You can't put the counter on, and then you pay the cost zero times.

So Solemnity would make a chalice of the void come down for 0 always? Walking Ballista would insta die too right?
