This card is sweet! Can you activate it main phase to become a creature and then attack with said creature that turn? If not, this isn't very exciting. It's got some interesting tech as a mana sink to store 2 mana as 1 mana eot in the form of a land though.
Also blech EDH combos will go nuts with this card.

My Cubes - The Busted Cube. A fully functional, almost 100% custom cube. The project started out by asking "What if other colors got cards on the power level of Mana Drain,Ancestral Recall, and Time Walk?" Draft and enjoy!
That is amazing with mana up. Pay two to copy, say, Invisible Stalker, go to combat and attack, then after blockers are declared, pay another 2 two become, say, Blightsteel Colossus to kill someone via infect. Tons of shenanigans here!

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

It doesn't work that way, as it loses its shapeshifter ability.

That won't work, note that it does not say "and gains this ability" on the card. You can stack activations but you won't be able to do shenanigans involving changing steps or phases because it loses the activated ability once the first copy effect resolves.
So can I mirage mirror a creature with exert and it untaps next turn?
If you turn the mirror into something with Exert, and then exert that creature, then the Mirror won't untap during your next untap step.
From the Rules on Exert:
701.37a To exert a permanent, you choose to have it not untap during your next untap step.

No, the Mirage Mirror will not untap as normal after being exerted, even if it doesn't have an exert ability anymore. That said, you can always turn it into something that doesn't need to be untapped during it's exerted turns, which could be good value.

You can attack with it as long as Mirage Mirror has been under your control since the beginning of your turn. It acts similarly to manlands in that manner. You cannot use it to store mana, though, as it turns back into itself at end of turn. There's no point you can turn it into a land where it won't be Mirage Mirror after you untap.
Yes. It becomes a copy of Dark Depths and, since it has no counters on it, its ability will trigger. As long as you put the original in the graveyard due to the Legend Rule, this will be around when the trigger resolves to be sacrificed and you end up with Marit Lage.
Mirage Mirror 3
Artifact (Rare)
2: Mirage Mirror becomes a copy of
target artifact, creature, enchantment,
or land until end of turn.
Wow, I love this.
In a great way.
Too bad it doesn't work with at the begining of your upkeep abilities
But you can triple mana it with mana flare
Also blech EDH combos will go nuts with this card.

Foul
It doesn't have the same trick as thespian's stage nor scion of the Ur-Dragon
(I think it looses the copy ability when it transforms.)
Yep, completely missed that. Still, awesomely fun card for EDH!
It doesn't work that way, as it loses its shapeshifter ability.
It would need to be more like Dimir Doppelganger.
So does Scion. Which is why you have to activate him twice before passing priority. It'd be the same with the mirror.
Oh but yeah you can't copy, do something then copy something else.
If you turn the mirror into something with Exert, and then exert that creature, then the Mirror won't untap during your next untap step.
From the Rules on Exert:
Ryperior is correct, the Mirror does indeed lose it's copy ability after it has copied something.
Still a cool card that I could see making a splash in Commander, maybe even other places. Will have to see.

Because destory artifact stuff turn it into something with indestrucable
Exile turn it into one of your thing with hexproof (opponents can't hit owners stuff with hexproof.)
Uh-oh I just realized this is the third thing that can do the instanious marit late dark depths combo
