That is amazing with mana up. Pay two to copy, say, Invisible Stalker, go to combat and attack, then after blockers are declared, pay another 2 two become, say, Blightsteel Colossus to kill someone via infect. Tons of shenanigans here!
That doesn't work. It doesn't retain the activated copy ability once it becomes something else.
2 mana: cloudpost? gaeas cradle? anything that makes much mana?
Well, copying Cradle makes you put one in the graveyard. I could see the benefit if one was to combo off that turn, but its not like you consistently get 2 Cradles every turn. You get 2 Cradles for one turn and then lose both.
I don't play a lot of Legacy so besides Dark Depths and Cloudpost (assuming there are enough Locus lands to significantly offset the 2 mana investment), what else would be broken in the format with this card? I primarily play EDH and Modern so knowing some of the broken things this can do in Legacy can potentially help me watch out for them in EDH

It does work if you change it to Blightsteel after it fails to be blocked.
Copy the Abyss or Nether void in opponents upkeep?
Copying The Abyss doesn't work, since the first chance you would get to copy it is during your opponents upkeep. Which means that the "Begining of the Upkeep" has already been and gone, so your new Mirror copy of the The Abyss won't even trigger.
Also why do we have two threads for this card in the same part of the forum right now?

You can only change it once a turn.
Correct the mirror has to have a copy ability like thespian's stage when you can copy again anytime

yep but you can triple upkeep stuff with paradox haze
my favorite is turning it into a celestial convergence when you have the highest life
Not bad. I'm a bit worried that it doesn't say "Non-legendary, non-planeswalker" here (both would be relevant given the set), but I'm okay with this. It opens up interesting deck building space.
You might be right about the 'non-legendary' part. The non-planeswalker part isn't an issue. If you copy a planeswalker (I think the only valid target is Gideon) it'll die due to having no loyalty counters.

It could be used to destroy an opponent's The abyss or Nether void using the world enchantment rules
This card is Bonkers. I need like 3 or 4 for various EDH decks. The Copying enchantments part is the best. That's a super rare ability, and with enchantments like Doubling Season around, there's a ton of room for power there. I don't think it replaces Copy Enchantment in my Atraxa deck, but I'm looking for a card to cut for SURE.

Wow my mind is racing with the possibilities copying someones Glacial chasm, copying your own scorched ruins/lotus vale without draw back, before you draw I'll copy your Cons Sphinx, in response to planar cleanse/akromas wrath I'll make it a land.

As has been discussed, the mirror does not "gain this ability" - if you allow it to go unblocked as a Phantom Warrior, it no longer has the ability "2: Become a copy of something else", so you can't transform it into another permanent until it turns back into mirror at end of turn.

So does Scion. Which is why you have to activate him twice before passing priority. It'd be the same with the mirror.
Oh but yeah you can't copy, do something then copy something else.
Could you copy Mirage Mirror with Mizzium Transreliquat, activate the MT's copy ability targeting itself, then in response activate the copying ability it copies from the Mirror, use any activated abilities of whatever else it copied, then have it reset itself to being a copy of the Mirror?

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
That is actually a really cool artifact. As its like Clever Impersonator, minus being able to copy planeswalkers but instead able to transform into a land, on the postitive side it can shapeshift into very worthwhile cards repeatably by itself.
Could you copy Mirage Mirror with Mizzium Transreliquat, activate the MT's copy ability targeting itself, then in response activate the copying ability it copies from the Mirror, use any activated abilities of whatever else it copied, then have it reset itself to being a copy of the Mirror?
*blinkblink* wut...
Okay let me try and parse that out.
So you have Transreliquat and Mirror. You activate the (presumably) second ability or transreliquat targeting the mirror. Now you have a Mirror with 1RU: Copy target artifact and gain this ability. Then you activate the transreliquats ability targeting itself, retain priority and activate the transmirrors ability targetting... Something else I guess? And then.... Gahh! What you're teying to do is get somethimg that can retain the transformative ability. The peoblem is that once the mirror ability resovles it loses any ability not associated with the target of that instance of the ability.
Hypothetically, with enough mana, you could stack an instance of the mirrors ability for each non-planeswalker permanent in play. And then as each resolves you could activate abilities of the associated permanent. But once there are no more activations of the mirror on the stack the mirror no,longer has its copy ability until the next endstep when it resets.
What you want is more easily achieved with Transreliquat and Liquimetal Coating.
Finally a card that stirs a little interest from this set in me.
Not sure if if will ever be more than a fringe card in Modern, but it seems like it could be abusable somehow in some deck, I'm just not sure. Maybe in a Tron shell copying Wurmcoil Engine??? Not sure if copying a Fetchland in Modern may be okay or not I suppose unless its some Landfall based deck. Hope I can pick up 4 copies for cheap.
Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)

Why can't you just activate it with your upkeep abilities on the stack?
You can. But, as has been discussed, you can't copy something with an upkeep trigger to get another upkeep trigger. The "Beginning" of the Upkeep has already passed by the time you can make a copy so the Mirage Mirror will not trigger.
Thank you i forgot about that card
