I've seen this statement multiple times in the last few days, but Ajani didn't run off to Dominaria. He went to recruit allies (likely from several planes) and then was going to rendezvous with the Gatewatch on Dominaria.
We have no reason to believe that he's on Dominaria right now.
Thus, most likely he's going to arrive at Dominaria with a veritable army of PWs in tow, only to find one or two GW, most likely Jace and/or Liliana, waiting to tell him that "Hey, you know how you told us not to go to Amonkhet right away? We totally did that and, surprise surprise, you were right and we done forked up." Cue Catman brow pinch and question about the other membrs' whereabouts.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
It'll be an interesting conversation, to say the least.
If Ajani weren't such an upstanding fellow, he might just leave them to their well deserved fates. (Or if that wouldn't mean fewer 'walkers to face Bolas.)
"Well-deserved"? They only tried to stop an evil Elder Dragon from menacing the Multiverse, and thought to use the element of surprise. I think they can be forgiven for trying to take the initiative. They may deserve a reprimandng from Ajani since he did try to warn them, but they do not deserve death or worse at Bolas' hands.

Yeah, apologies my post was more tongue in cheek than I think it came across.
The defeat was deserved, because they blatantly disregarded the advice of the one person in their group to really face Bolas before, but no one deserves Bolas.
