i imagine the black one will be some sort of duress.
I'm having trouble with the red one tho. most likely a burn spell but how do you make sure it kills chandra? all this other get rid of the PW no matter their loyalty, the burn spell could be stopped by a high loyalty. the way around it is to make it deal a huge amount of damage but then you'd have to up the CMC and so fare they all seem to be 1/2

We have had dread bore. While planes walker destruction has been mainly put in black since red normally can do the same thing with burn. I would say destroy is not out side the possibilities. Unlikely, but possible.

It could just be a searing spear that deals double (or triple) to Chandra Planeswalkers or copies itself if Chandra is a target, the copy version would mean that you can always kill a Chandra and have 3 damage to burn something else (just point them at Chandra till she is dead then fire the last copy elsewhere).

sure but you also have to think about rarity and CMC. dreadbore was RB and rare. They cannot have that ability for 1R and uncommon

I said unlikely, but this entire cycle references planes-walkers. Damage to target planewalker is more likely. Although target player would be sweet if it could, but then it might be to costly because it needs a walker.

Most interesting part about Lili's is that it says "her" instead of "its". Do we have any other examples of cards that refer to planeswalkers as real people instead of game objects?

we do. since Magic Origin if i remember correctly. I don't know which cards, but I'm sure it's not the first time.

On the the topic of the story significance of Gideon's Defeat: Note how Bolas is touching Gideon and the flavour text is referencing him thinking himself untouchable. If memory serves, Bolas's signature ability ever since he was first printed is wiping clean people's memories with but a touch. Gideon may be invulnerable to any bodily harm but Bolas's touch can leave him with complete amnesia. It could even lead to him joining Bolas after some moral rewiring, although I hope that is not the case.

I think it has more of a resemblance to the part in the story where Bolas pokes a claw through the Hekma with no resistance. He is essentially doing the same thing to Gideon's spell
Up until today, I was convinced Wizards was going to kill one of them off to hammer home the threat of Bolas. That Gideon was going to pull a heroic sacrifice to let the others escape because it seemed more in character for him than the others. Now, I'm not so sure. I don't think WotC is going to kill any of their darling Gatewatch. Maybe we'll see another RG planeswalker killed off before the end of the block they debuted in.
Who says Xenagos is dead, they never found the body. And besides, death isn't necessarily permanent in Theros.
Death isn't permanent on Amonkhet, either. And it would be interesting to see what happens if a Planeswalker is killed there. I still think one of the Gatewatch dies, although my guess is Nissa. It would drive home the point that they're WAY too overconfident since they seem to be ignoring that all of their victories so far have been near-losses. And they keep doing things that others tell them not to do - destroying Ulamog and Kozilek, going after Bolas without backup. They need a reality check.

No, death is pretty permanent on Amonkhet, it's just that the dead keep moving as zombies/mummies. A.k.a. The Undead.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
Most interesting part about Lili's is that it says "her" instead of "its". Do we have any other examples of cards that refer to planeswalkers as real people instead of game objects?
we do. since Magic Origin if i remember correctly. I don't know which cards, but I'm sure it's not the first time.
I believe that planeswalkers use gendered pronouns while creatures (even legendary ones) used "it" and "its." Arbitrary rule, but i suppose the rule was always going to arbitrary.
is 'strictly' better than Glare of Heresy and these cards aren't meant to be strictly better.
W
Instant
Exile target attacking or blocking creature.
This is also 'strictly' better than almost any card of its kind.
So the card itself is quite conditional, yes, but it's also not too conditional for its cost.
I hate to be the strictly better guy, but glare was used to get rid of all permanent types. It was a powerhouse back in it's day. This is a narrow sideboard option for white mirror matches. Even at double the cost, heresy was by far the strongest of it's cycle, with the black one taking second due to the monoblack meta. White usually gets the best hate cards in a cycle
I think there is going to be a tradition of killing mono-white planeswalkers in this game. Needless to say, Gideon is pretty dead. He didn't dodge anything, is literally getting stabbed in the chest, and has literally survived just about everything by relying on his indestructible nature. I'd say the survivors of this travesty of an assault is Liliana, Jace, possibly Nissa, and Chandra. Gideon has a replacement in the works with Ajani who ran off to Dominaria (my god, we may get an experienced and practical planeswalker in the room?). I will totally laugh if the solution to the Bolas problem happens to be Ajani finds Garruk, convinces Garruk the ultimate hunt is the elder dragon, and literally points the beefcake death machine in his general direction.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
I've seen this statement multiple times in the last few days, but Ajani didn't run off to Dominaria. He went to recruit allies (likely from several planes) and then was going to rendezvous with the Gatewatch on Dominaria.
We have no reason to believe that he's on Dominaria right now.
Haha. I imagine his uptick would be written out as an epic battle. Not just "sploosh".
