"The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again"
I was tryng to translate it, it's something like:
"Gideon, it must've been easy to play the paladin when you beleve to be untouchable. Poor fool"

Exiling an attacking white creature was what I was expecting for Gideon's defeat. Wasn't sure if it would have the blocking creature clause as well, but adds a little more utility to this card. And that gaining five life isn't something to scoff at when it happens.

Seems pretty good sideboard stuff to me.
1 mana creature exile. Semi-conditional seems playable in standard.

Because pre-Mending created Oldwalkers are Egoistic GODS-according-to-the-writers (even tho some of them could've been reasoned with storywise).
Well, Bolas beat the everloving snot out of Ugin the last time they tangled, Karn's power level is closer to Bolas's. But what the gatewatch really needs is an Umezawa.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
Perhaps just waiting for Ajani to get whoever he was going to get would have been a good idea too. Sure the plane would still be effed, but you'd think they remember their past encounters with Bolas and through Ajani's first hand experience with fighting him.
I guess he's just being "defeated" and not actually killed off, or they would have made it a little more dramatic. Interesting to see Nicol Bolas dropping a white spell, but I suppose he isn't the type to quibble about that. You don't rule over entire planes without conquering a few plains along the way.

So how are they going to survive this? Don't tell me Bolas ends up playing the "arrogant villain mercy" card where he thinks he can just shove them off to other worlds and they won't be a threat. I despise when the only reason the heroes get to win is because the villain acts stupid as opposed to the heroes triumphing because of their virtues. Sure, they can outsmart the villain and take the villain's mistakes into account, but it shouldn't be "Gee, we were lucky the bad guy didn't decide to just kill us when he had the chance!"
Bolas kills. And something is going to stop him from killing the Gatewatch. Even if it's another timely intervention from our favorite catman, or the Gods of Amonkhet being fixed by Nissa before the fact and turning on Bolas at the last minute, giving the Gatewatch a chance to escape and recover. They'll have lost the battle, they'll have realized who they're dealing with, and they'll follow Ajani's advice and gather allies against Bolas.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

The fact Umezawa was a card of the day on the wizards home page makes me wonder if we may see a brief return to Kamigawa. Tamiyo also has been on innistrad. Where was Ajani headed?
~edit~
looks like the last few cards of the day on wizards site were bolas related.

True. But you can never be sure with writers. Ajani was able to "beat" Bolas too after all.

It's sort of known that Oldwalkers have dabbled on other colors other than what they've ended as their base. Like, Serra, someone who you'll only relate to white sort of hinted that she had dabbled with other colors and personally concluded that she just can't work with Black mana.

Ironically, it's almost certainly Liliana who saves them (again). Liliana knows where to regroup. Liliana hasn't survived for as long as she has by taking unnecessary risks. And Liliana is (of the Gatewatch members there) least likely to underestimate NB. She might just 'peace out' and leave the rest of the Gatewatch behind, but she also doesn't like owing people things... and she at least is very aware that she owes the rest of the Gatewatch for helping her kill Razaketh.
Actually, more likely Samut intervenes while Bolas is playing with his food and Liliana gets them all the hell out of there... except for Jace. Anyway, that's a likely scenario.
Don't tell me Bolas ends up playing the "arrogant villain mercy" card where he thinks he can just shove them off to other worlds and they won't be a threat.
They had better not. Bolas is definitely not the type. This is a dragon who wiped out every descendant of the guy who injured him, then went to a completely different plane to make sure every member of his bloodline suffered for the sins of a guy banished from their plane millennia ago. Unless you can be REALLY useful like Tezzeret, Bolas doesn't do mercy.
Bolas kills. And something is going to stop him from killing the Gatewatch.
Up until today, I was convinced Wizards was going to kill one of them off to hammer home the threat of Bolas. That Gideon was going to pull a heroic sacrifice to let the others escape because it seemed more in character for him than the others. Now, I'm not so sure. I don't think WotC is going to kill any of their darling Gatewatch. Maybe we'll see another RG planeswalker killed off before the end of the block they debuted in.

Well we know for sure Jace lives due to the Ixalan spoilers.
I know it's only 1 white mana but " attacking or blocking white "
Isn't it too much restricted? attacking or blocking not necessary i think.
I did not notice the white. I thought it was just attacking or blocking. Yea much more conditional than I originally thought. Although that makes more sense considering the rest the cycle.

Exile target attacking or blocking white creature. If it's a Gideon planeswalker card gain 5 life
