"Create two copies of Jace, Planar Castaway, except they're not legendary."
Going based on the frame space missing.
Secondly, creating copies of himself was the technique he used to defeat vraska in Ravnica, in the Jace Vs Vraska Duel deck story article, so it could be likely!
So much for their "promise" to stop printing the Jacestice league so much.
>They never said they'd stop printing Gatewatch walkers altogether.
>Jace got only 1 card since the GW was a thing.
>Jace is the only GW walker we see or even get any hints about in this leak, and other than him, Ajani is the only one who we may or may not see in Ixalan at all.
Seriously, come on.
Jace is also the most boring and uninspiring walker. Just like Superman is boring and unispiring.
From what I see, and what I can assume... Is Jace is isolated, alone, and probably screwed. Vraska has a vendetta against him. I wanted him killed since Ravnica, maybe he's finally going to get killed now.
Especially after he became the living guildpact and abandoned his duties he deserves to die.
OK first, I don't care for words like "boring" in communities like this since they're grossly overused and tend to just mean you don't like that particular card, deck or character. Some of his cards are dull indeed, but others (like a certain Wallet Sculptor) aren't, and I find the character himself more interesting than people give him credit for. Not to mention, if this card is legit, at least with his ultimate, this Jace card is breaking new ground where planeswalkers are concerned, and they're finally starting to delve into the more intriguing aspects of his abilities like Illusions.
Second, there's no way that Jace is dying before we get his trip back to Vryn to resolve his character plot with his home plane.
Third, yes he's shirking his duties as The Living Guildpact, but that should be addressed in Return to Return to Ravnica, and not a random backwater plane like Ixalan.
I don't use the word much, but the way he is written makes him a two dimensional character surrounded by three dimensional characters.
In worlds like ours, he's batman from Dark Knight. All kinds of people around him are fairly interesting, but he isn't really well developed. What made Dark Knight watchable? Heath Ledger as the Joker, not Batman according to that guy who played him...
In Superman vs Batman, the movie was terrible except for Batman. And Superman was largely one dimensional in a 3 dimensional world just as Jace is most of the time.
He never makes any real decisions, only going along with everything and everyone else.
I keep hoping for other blue walkers and they haven't printed anything because the poster child is SupaJace... Who's only weakness is his own planet that somehow travels light years with him (or how he just seems to be along for the ride and his indecisiveness) but at least it's not the color yellow.
But seriously, I groan every time they print Jace... I agree, as a card, he's bloody good. But as a character, he's..... ugh... a lack of concept.
There's no real depth to him, except that his mind is ripped asunder and he united the guilds in a way no other could and with him gone we'll see Ravnica destroying itself with war and strife. Good job, shirker. At least there's no Eldrazi there to warp reality to ruin an entire plane like Innistrad, or at least..... I hope.
How would the PW Uniqueness rule apply to Jace PW copies?
There will have to be some way in the tokens to ignore it. That's likely the "except they're not" part of the ultimate that's visible. My assumption is that it will say "they are not Jace planeswalkers" or something similar, because it would be a flavor fail if you couldn't cast new jaces because his illusions were in play.
That's why these seem fake. There's not enough room on the left side for that to read anything but "Legendary," which of course wouldn't make sense.
I mean, it looks to me like there's room for "Jace planeswalkers."
Edit - It's also called the planeswalker uniqueness rule in the comp rules, so maybe it just says they aren't unique?
Definitely not enough room on the last line for "Jace Planeswalkers." The text ends just past halfway to the center of the card, which is the right amount of room for "legendary."
Maybe he's a flip walker, and and creates tokens of his creature side, which aren't legendary. Or planeswalkers, which would make sense for illusion versions of himself. I don't think his self-mirrors ever exhibited planeswalker level of ability, have they? I dunno!

And nothing that you said is objective or fact. You must play Mono Red.
legacy, I enjoy Bug, elves, 12 post. modern I play bant, tron, and death's shadow anything. Ravnica block I loved playing with Sphinx Rev. I played Rug in Standard around Ugin's fate, but after that I love me some.... Mono black control? Bug Seasons Foretold control? Eh... I find mono red obnoxious, and the only reason why I play the color in commander is because Breya, Animar, and Prossh has the color in their identity. And 23 years later I still like Blood Moon.

I think the whole sheet would have to be DFC's then.
Not quite as exciting as the previous three days, and wastes momentum heading into HoD reveals tomorrow. Self leaking some cards from a future set is a great way of keeping the momentum going...

FREE MODERN. Break the Standard link.
I play Magic: the Gathering, not Magic: the Commandering.
Nice... Wish I could see a better image. But it looks like a full uncut sheet. Definitely WotC employee then. Looking forward to this set, must have pirates... Just wish they were rogues for Edric.
Man its so hard to see that photo. I see a 2BB Instant Black spell that can kill a creature or planeswalker and you gain 2 life. There's also a 1W Enchantment that is grafdigger's cage with a you gain 1 life clause on it.

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
That pic is so small and blurry, I can't even identify where Jace is in the art, much less what he's wearing.
I can see him just barely; it looks to me like he doesn't have his cloak and he's wearing a one-sleeved shirt similar to those that a number of pirates wear.
There is a card: Vraska's ???
2B and 2colorless instant:
Exile target creature or planeswalker. You gain 2 life.
Also: Ashes of the Abhorrent, appears to be white enchantment:
Players can't cast spells from graveyards or activate abilities of cards in graveyards. Whenever a creature dies, you gain 1 life.
And just below Ashes is Bishop of Rebirth 2W and 3 colorless that gets around Ashes.
3/4 Vigilance Whenever Bishop of Rebirth attacks, you may return target creature card with converted mana cost 3 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield.

Jace showing some skin. Cuuuute. Wish I could see all that… All I see is a blur of blue.

Thou shalt not frame images with the modern card face
Thou shalt not change rules in vain
Remember the Reserved List to keep it holy
Honor thy Slivers and the symmetry of their abilities
Thou shalt not kill mana burn
Thou shalt not sacrifice depth for accessibility
Thou shalt not steal combat damage from the stack
Thou shalt tell a story through thy cards
All must be one
Well... it seems like a fair variant.

That all looks well and good (I'm serious about that), but....what is Jace wearing?

They used a high-res potato.
But seriously though, if this is Wizards intentionally "leaking" this, it makes sense.
