I'm hoping we eventually see monowhite Angels vs. BR Demons and Devils, the classic battle of "Sunlit Heavens vs. Fire-and-Brimstone Hell". Could be part of a series of "color vs. enemies" duel decks that help exemplify the conflicts between colors and their enemies.
Divine vs. Demonic was one of the earlier Duel Decks.
It was actually the first Duel Deck I purchased, mostly because by the time I learned of Jace Vs. Chandra and Elves Vs. Goblins, both were sold out.
And then I couldn't get my hands on Duel Decks anthology when it came around... :/

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).

Not a bad purchase considering there's a 50 dollar Demonic Pact in there.
I wonder if we will see a new Legend for one of the face cards as well as some new cards from an upcoming set (Ixalan). If not I'm hoping Sygg is the Merfolk Legend, maybe UW Merfolk vs RB Goblins.
As for what they put in the decks, I can definitely see some rather expensive Merfolk and Goblin staples going in this deck (expensive as in 1$ And up). There's not a lot of Merfolk cards when you think about it, so they have to reprint some staples for each. There was already a Elves vs Goblins deck, so what goes in the Goblin deck is probably going to be mostly different cards aside from maybe a few key goblins.

I get the impression this is Wizards saying "Oops, I guess we should have done G elves, R goblins, B zombies, U merfolk, and P balloons for our tribal decks this year."
I don't know if I'd rather the Merfolk deck be WU or GU, however. I understand that WU currently has the highest-volume tribal support, but Prime Speaker Zegana is one of my favorite Merfolk. Of course the two decks could both turn out to be monocolored, just like Elves vs. Goblins, but now they have more multicolor options compared to when those decks came out. Honestly, I would be just as happy if these decks were GWU Merfolk vs. BRG Goblins, but they only do tricolor Duel Decks when they're connected to a tricolor theme (see Ajani vs. Nicol Bolas and Speed vs. Cunning).
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
I doubt this means you wont see a goblin or two. Same probably applies to merfolk, but the next set has pirates so....
Goblins need some new blood after all.
Honestly, I'd rather have Wort, the Raidmother as the goblin face card, but I suspect you may be correct. Particularly if we get the merfolk and goblin racial lands reprinted in the decks.

I doubt the merfolk deck will contain Zegana, as there is a distinct lack of previously printed green merfolk.

Well with UG merfolk in Ixalan, I wouldn't be too surprised to see UG merfolk in the Duel Deck. But then again, there's not a lot of UG Merfolk outside of Ixalan so maybe they will do UW Merfolk just to throw a nod to the older cards and get some reprints in. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me to Make a Duel Deck and include cards freshly printed in a standard set.
Sygg, River Guide is one of my all time favorites. He's cheap and effective! And pretty silly looking lol
On the one hand, I'm thrilled that GU Merfolk now has enough cards from both colors to actually be a thing. On the other, it's probably way too recent for MvG to make use of them, so instead of a sweet GU Deck helmed by Prime Speaker Zegana or Tishana, Voice of Thunder, we're probably going to get a WU Merfolk deck lead by Sygg, River Guide. No offense, but Sygg has islandwalk which will only matter if the deck includes Spreading Seas, Streambed Aquitects, and the like, as well as a protection ability which could prove to be rather unfun (he really should have had an untapping ability to play with the Merrows' tap theme). And while I can appreciate the thematic playoff between two Lorwyn legends, Wort, Boggart Auntie's Fear ability essentially makes her unblockable against the likely not part black or red Merfolk, though Goblin recursion is fun.
However, nothing says they have to be the face cards for the decks. Krenko, Mob Boss would work great as a Goblin face card.

Seems odd to use Master of the Pearl Trident over Lord of Atlantis, considering the later could really use a reprint just to get it in the current border. From the looks of it the Goblin deck seems a tad worse. It could have used a Goblin Warchief and Possibly Siege-Gang Commander. At least Warren Instigator got a reprint, finally.
Overall I don't hate this DD. It's decent and certainly helps you build a Merfolk deck.

They don't do lords that effect the whole table anymore. Last time was the Time Spiral Slivers for nostalgic and they believe that was a mistake.

Wow, they put three Ghostfires in the goblin deck just so it could deal with Master of Waves. Why didn't they put in Goblin Piledriver as the face card for the goblin deck? It would have been a great parallel.
Having those Ghostfires jsut to deal with Master fo Waves its really silly. Shouldn't have added Master at aall. Should have been something like Lord of Atlantis.

SHANDALAR
Innistrad - The Darkest Night
~THE RAVNICAN CONSORTIUM~

Commander: Allies & Adversaries
I think you mean either Demonic Tutor or Promise of Power, Demonic Pact wasn't printed until long after Divine Vs. Demonic was printed. >.<
And considering the price, you probably meant the tutor.

I am half expecting Demonic Tutor to get reprinted in either Iconic Masters or Masters25. Probably as a rare, possibly a mythic.

It makes it highly unlikely either tribe will appear in this years commander product. Yes.

I'd add Coralhelm Commander, Lullmage Mentor, Merrow Commerce, and Quest for the Goblin Lord to that list. A pity Master of Waves doesn't fit the tribal theme well enough, it would be epic to see him go up against Skirk Fire Marshal.

I'd love to see a Krenko, Mob Boss vs Prime Speaker Zegana. I think that would fit flavor-fully too as they are both from Ravnica.
