Are the art of the cards from Unstable going to pop out of the frames like the art in the last Un-sets?
I was wondering about this too. seems like all spoiled cards so far are Un-themed but they all lack any significant visual style alterations as previous un-sets.
The thing that I am noticing a bunch from this set is the flavor text. THIS is the kind of flavor text that Magic has been missing since they started making flavor text about the story.
A lot of black-bordered cards used to have the fun and playful text being seen on a lot of these cards (especially with goblins). I've missed that and I hope that this revitalizes them a bit.
I'm thinking of surprising my friends with a booster box each of this set as well as one for myself (3 in all) since we've been out of magic since Kaladesh, but I don't know if that's a little overboard. I haven't been paying attention too much to value or whatever but we never played the un- series before. Should I just buy two and split them among the three of us or is it justified to get three?

The basic lands will be $1 or $2, the foil basics will probably start at $5 and go way up over time. There are a bunch of fun cards that people will use in their casual or Commander decks, and I'm sure the Crow Storm will be another Grixmas meme at the MTGCommander.net forums for the holidays. So I would probably get two boxes, split. If you guys like drafting the set or fooling around with it, go nuts and get a third. Otherwise just enjoy what you received.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
The set so far is humorous and nice that it's inclusive for drafting and limited UN-deck building. I just ordered a few boxes myself to sit on in case my sons start playing a CCG in like 5-10 years. I'm not an investor looking to flip it, but hope to draft and then make fun decks at that point for family game night. There is a high probability these sealed boxes are going to increase in price later even if print levels are greater now, that it would be cost effective to buy now if you can afford it. It's not like they print Un-sets often, but anything can happen.
I agree that lands and foils will be the main value driver, and maybe if Contraptions ever became a thing. I consider that all bonus for hours of fun. I wonder if WotC would make a new game that uses the Contraption mechanic if this proved successful rather than trying to integrate it into MtG? They do make some fun other games.

The set is still supposed to be played as draft, not sealed with just boosters.
So that would be much less of an issue.
