This means the dragon deck is 5 colors. Makes sense, I suppose. Plus, this gives dragon EDH another 5C commander to play with, besides the annoying ones.
Might be are best candidate yet for a 5-color Eldrazi deck commander even though he's flavor fail.
I have to respectively disagree, considering none of the true Eldrazi will trigger his counter ability. Drones, sure, but none of the titans and none of the devoid spells.

Yep m bad I have ADHD
I thought or figured it was devotion not colors and devoid ruins it
So scratch what I said
But hey atleast you can do a creature heavy deck with him.
Just how many unrepresented Dragons are left? They never made a card for Thraxes...

you can generally tell the easiest road to victory by how many players congregate on it; and the road of counterspells/control has been the freeway of choice in magic for quite some time.

What I find offensive is not that Wizards is endeavoring to make the game more accessible, but the attitudes of elitists who act as though no one of any age should show their face in the Magic public without first having mastery over the complexities of the game.
Well, no. How many 5c identity commanders are there ~13?
However, there's a combo engine. It's in their somewhere, but I just can't help but think this is part of some broken infinite mana combo.
Well, there is the classic Horned Kavu/Aluren combo, but this isn't as efficient as storm in that. And there's peaches with Archangel of Thune. There's probably some combo with buyback spells.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
How curious, a colorless general who could be the head of a 5 color deck! And 5 counters turn into 10 mana is an economic ability that matches his lore.

More than that, they are both artifacts with colorless costs that are easy to reduce. You could easily turn Ramos into a mana engine.
*EDIT*
Actually, there's a couple modern infinite combos:
Casting Transguild Courier will give Ramos 5 counters; remove immediately for 10 mana. Use Temur Sabertooth to bounce Courier back, and repeat. You can also use Aegis Automaton instead of Temur, and Reaper King instead of Courier if you have a cost reducer of (2) or more.
*EDIT*
Totally didn't see that one-per-turn restriction; no wonder. Well you can make him infinitely big still, but can only get mana once per turn.

Am I reading that rule right that the ability doesn't track that it's been activated on a different instance of the card?

Yeah Ramos is a dragon engine that came from Dominaria to Mercadia during the Brother's War.
Yeah, I mean, he was built BY Mishra and the reprogrammed by Urza. How could he be anything else but an artifact creature?
Now that I look at it it does seem like a star is there. We'll I hoping that they are.
