I wonder why eople think that Amonkhet is out for being a source for the Tribal EDH decks. Normal sets have a larger lead time than EDH stuff, meaning that whoever would makea a Zombie deck would more than likely know about upcoming white zombies and could easily make a lord for them. The biggest problem would be in keeping the traditional of having 3 Legends that could be your commander, unless they have 2 Esper Legends that have nothing to do with Zombies.

I don't see why amonkhet would boot tribals biggest reason zombie tribal may not happen in this Commander set is they may have a esper zombie legend (good for commander) upcoming in hour of devastation
I really dont see why so many people are saying Slivers. Its very likely going to be decks that support tribes that dont have a solid niche in commander.
If you look at the the tribes that exist now its this
Merfolk - Sygg, River Guide - If you want merfolk tribal you have one choice really. All the other merfolk legendaries don't care about other merfolk. Since there is only 1 Legendary that supports the tribe id say its a decent chance of getting in.
Goblin - Ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician, Krenko, Mob Boss, Wort, Boggart Auntie, Wort, the Raidmother - Of these Krenko is by far the most played and goblins as a whole have a decent amount of support but again outside of Krenko they arent really good so one of the decks being golbins would be cool.
Angel - Kaalia of the VastBruna, the Fading Light - The best tribal angel deck is by far Kaalia and that should really be enough to say how awesome an actual tribal angel deck would be.
Vampire - While many of the vampire legends synergies with vampires non of them are particularly good at it. Its more about making non vampires into vampires
Dragon - Atarka, World Render, Bladewing the Risen, Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund, Scion of the Ur-Dragon - Dragons are pretty well represented in terms of commander but more lower cost ones would always be welcome.
Zombie - While many zombie generals have reanimation synergy none of them actually care about zombies.
Demons - There are NO demons that care about other demon. Id love a demon tribal deck.
Slivers - Its tribal the tribe. All 4 of the legends care heavily about other slivers.
Now of course there are many other tribes I thought Id just through out some of the more common ones.

SonofaBith - Wizards was so excited about making the packaging for Modern Masters 2 recyclable, they decided to make most of the rares and all but 1 of the UC's recycle-bin ready too. Convenient!

It's not about the Commander legendaries; with 56 new cards to spread between 4 decks there's lots of room to showcase multiple new Commanders. It's the fact that there are only 4 white zombies that pre-date Amonkhet to include in the deck.
One of those 4 is Daxos the Returned, who is almost guaranteed to not see reprint this soon. Stillmoon Cavalier's biggest benefit in EDH is its dual protection, but WotC doesn't like protection. And while people like Tidehollow Sculler in Modern, it isn't a great multiplayer card nor is it in need of a reprint. That leaves 1 white zombie to showcase in an Esper Zombies tribal deck: Putrid Warrior. Its got a good multiplayer effect, but there's no way WotC builds an Esper Zombies deck based on the existence of a single common. It's just not going to happen.
There is at least one Orzhov card that also loves zombies Necromancer's Covenant that has no home in commander.
D'oh, I was wrong. It's not too soon for Daxos (edit: and Necromancer's Covenant) to see a reprint..."Plunder the Graves" is being reprinted in Commander Anthologies, right next to the Elf tribal deck. So that's still a no for Esper Zombies.

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
It doesn't matter if there aren't a bunch of white zombies before Amonkhet. The point is there are many that are included now and there will be more in future sets. Not to mention all the great support cards white would be able to offer in a zombie deck.
For a zombie deck it would be easiest to make a 5 color deck then a esper deck to represent the tribe in all its glory.
I like the idea of a 5 color spirits lead by O-Kagashi.
But one thing that would be really good is the returning of the partiner mechanic with a UGB ally legendary, UW Merfolk, Maybe some Khans of Tarkir guys and Girls (BW or GW abzan and UB or GU sultai).
About slivers, yes, they are very well represented, but if they made it at least it would be one of the most chased
I see slivers get mentioned every other post, but stepping back a second and realizing this is one of the products that is designed to draw in new players who see 'cool monsters' on the box and want to learn what game is inside the awesome packaging, I doubt slivers will actually be one of the decks this go-around. I would love more slivers and even a Sliver Queen clone/non-RL replacement, but there isn't resonance with people who don't know they want to play this game yet.
So I started thinking about what monsters would cause my nephew to make his parents blindly buy a new game if he saw them on the box, and a quick list of things he would recognize are:
Of those, the four options that make the most sense are Dragons, Humans (with lots of class options), Goblins and Elves (as representative of 'fey') or Treefolk. Dinosaurs have desperately wanted to become a supported creature type (even if the creature type on the card is 'beast' or whatever) but there really aren't any good ways to represent Dinosaurs using magic cards other than a few specific cards. To that extent, I'm not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but how is speculation surrounding possible Kraken/Leviathan/Octopus as a candidate? Not quite dinosaurs, but still very cool monsters that EDH players would love to have a general for.

Actually wizards is picky
In amonkhet there was no mummie sub-type they just made them zombies.
Dinosaurs we have a few dinosaur like cards alright but they are lizard type. So your really asking for lizard tribal.
I could see a GW Human tribal deck making it in as a chance to finally print that Mythic Rare GW Human Legend fans wanted since Innistrad.
In terms of sheer coolness, I think Knights, Dragons, and Wizards would all fare well. Artificer could work, but an Artificer deck really wants to care about artifacts more than Artificer tribal. Golems are pretty cool, and they have robot appeal going, so the fourth deck could be metal stompy with Golems. But I would expect a Dragon deck to be rampy and stompy, so that niche would already be covered. Knights and Dragons would both be aggro decks, and a Wizards deck would most likely be control. Any tribes prone to playing combo well?

There is at least one Orzhov card that also loves zombies Necromancer's Covenant that has no home in commander.
That card was already reprinted in a commander deck, though. I'm not saying it can't be used again, just that it clearly already "has" a home.
Covenant aside, there are more, and better, zombies in green than in white. If zombies is one of the decks and it isn't monoblack or black/blue, I think Sultai is more likely than Esper. (And I don't think four-color zombies is likely at all.)
Mournful Zombie also wants to be in a WB Zombie deck...but it's not considered good by most any stretch.
At any rate, I'd sooner see Esper Spirits than Zombies. Although, a WUBRG Spirit deck lead by O-Kagachi would be a twist.
You're right; I'd not searched for mono-colored cards that have multi-color identity. So to be fair, Pontiff of Blight also belongs on the list.
Actually, Pontiff of Blight and other Extort cards only have the color identity of their mana costs. The white mana symbol is only in the rules text of extort and does not impact the card's color identity. Pontiff itself was printed in a monoblack commander deck.
I doubt we will see slivers. The deck is too expensive by itself. Im thinking gwu elves, ub zombies, rw soldiers, and some 3 or 5 color elementals. There might also be a rwg humans with the new human legend that was just printed in amonkhet. I'd also like to see br minotaurs. That's a cool tribe with some fun synergies. Merfolk would be a pretty legit commander deck but like the slivers the deck is pretty expensive. No matter what way they go I expect to see some changelings to make a comeback.

Yes it was; WotC was proving a point to the EDH rules committee, encouraging them to change the rule, whic has happened.
"903.4. The Commander variant uses color identity to determine what cards can be in a deck with a certain commander. The color identity of a card is the color or colors of any mana symbols in that card’s mana cost or rules text, plus any colors defined by its characteristic-defining abilities (see rule 604.3) or color indicator (see rule 204).
Example: Bosh, Iron Golem is a legendary artifact creature with mana cost {8} and the ability “{3}{R}, Sacrifice an artifact: Bosh, Iron Golem deals damage equal to the sacrificed artifact’s converted mana cost to target creature or player.” Bosh’s color identity is red."

WE ARE NOT GETTING ELFS!
But how about ELVES?
No we are not getting elves at all in these tribals
The green commander 2014 set "guided by nature" is a elf tribal deck. 24 out of 37 creatures which means 65% are elfs and the commander makes them too.
And not to mentioned "guided by nature" is getting reprinted in commander anotology.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
