so very glad this isn't a permanent of any kind, it would be going straight into my EDH deck, but that has 2 non-permanents and one is Primal Surge, not open to adding another

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
It's a shame they've grown so attached to it recently.
Thats alway been the default? Most ramp spells get basic lands.

There will be EDH games where someone empties their library of basic lands with this card. And sometimes that will be with Avenger of Zendikar out. This card can be pretty crazy.
Great with Mana dorks to pay the cost. Convoke. While in standard we have Crew and Improvise (with Artifact Creatures). Don't think of it as upping the land count but more so of getting all your mana bases covered.

Just just made people get this card for horde of notion elemental tribal.
As a Limited player, this seems really sweet. One tends to have no shortage of creatures in Limited, and the thing that tends to kill you most in the late game is top-decking lands. Being able to drop this on turn 6-7 and pull 3-4 lands out of the deck can really smooth the draws out. I've had long games where I've drawn every land but 2 or 3, so having something like this to pull out the last few seems really sweet.

Damn, I knew I was missing a beater in my Karador, lands.dec. This card will also be going in there. Probably into my Meren too.
As long as x >= 3 this beats every other ramp spell that has been in Standard recently, including Explosive Vegetation. As long as you don't mind having your shields down for one turn I can see likely scenarios of grabbing 3 or 4 lands on turn 4, then untapping on turn 5 with at least 8 mana.
I suppose if you were being weird you could main phase emerge Elder Deep-Fiend and tap down 4 of your own creatures but crewing seems so much easier.
Ooo, tasty. If I still ran a Wort deck, this would be an auto-include. Any Commander deck that includes green and can field a sizable number of creatures wouldn't mind running this. Seriously considering it for my RG Omnath deck for the ridiculous amount of Landfall triggers.
Normally land ramp spells are in decks light on cheap creatures in order to accelerate the mana and be able to cast expensive spells/creatures.
This on the other hand can provide potentially massive ramp but can only do so early if you run a lot of cheap creatures (or token makers) and tap them out (by attacking or possibly by something like Cryptolith Rite).
The potential power is there so it'll be interesting to see if it's realized.
Here's a realistic curve -
1st turn - plains, Thraben Inspector
2nd turn - forest, Servo Exhibit
3rd turn - plains, attack with the 3 creatures (or play Cryptolith Rite and tap them for mana), Harvest Season for 3
4th turn - land, use the cards 7 mana (10 if you used Rite) to cast whatever you want.
I need multiple copies of this. Edric is so going to love it - attack with 5-8 evasive creatures, draw that many, and then get that many lands? Yes, please.
Not really. I run 4 basics in my Modern Elves and every list I've seen runs an average of 4-5 basics :/

Interesting. I actually really enjoy how this functions and the synergy options like Cryptolith Rite.
Good catch.
Personally, I think this card is great. It slots directly into Wort, the Raidmother in a very insane way. You usually have 5-6 creatures out at least which all are tapped to copy spells, so this card can easily net 10 lands for 3 mana.

I know combos with cryptolith rite easily use all creatures that's a garateed 3 lands.
