I like that this card's name and flavor are diverse enough that they could reprint it in another set where Gideon is doing some intervening.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Whoever proposed or supported the idea that MtG would be better if all the cards showed the same bland characters doing the same bland things over and over each year should be fired.
Like with their performance, they should actually be running their resumes around town for minimum wage service jobs, trying to think of ways to tell their families that they don't know how they're going to keep putting food on the table.

You know what's great about card games like Magic? Once you own the card, you can take a Sharpie and draw little stick figures or whatever you so you don't have to get so worked up just by looking at the picture.
Nevermore on steroids. My Ojutai enchantment pillow fort has been wanting a chance to lock out multiple commanders at once, and this more than does the trick. Amusing that if it sees play in Standard, it's most likely going to be naming Gideon, Ally of Zendikar.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.

They've been doing that since the start. You know how many Red steal creature Sorcery cards like Mark of Mutiny. Its like every other set with a tiny twist and freaking annoying except Kari Zev's Expertise. They do this so they dont have to reprint the same card and bore us instead they mask it with another name and maybe a little different. Cards like that are just filler stuff. This card specifically is kinda of regurgitated but I think its different enough thats its not as bad as the Mark of Mutiny example.
What I quite like is that unlike Eldritch Moon or Kaladesh, this does not give away much about the plot (yes, I am looking at you, Imprisoned in the Moon and Confiscation Coup).
By the way. What were you guys saying about Gideon is going to die.
And this does disprove it in any way?
What we see here is that Gideon is probably not going to die by Hazoret's hand. I never said this is the way of him dying ;-) And moreover, I personally said that Gideon is not going to leave Amonkhet, not necessarily that he dies.

How about naming Pestilence or something like that and then using it as one-sided wrath?
Wow, that's nasty, thanks! I'm building a WB edh deck anyways. This combo is perfect. And evil.
I mentioned Crypt Rats earlier in the thread. It's a pestilence with legs, and with this out, it doesn't even do its usual dying-to-its-own-damage thing.

Why don't you kick them in the nuts on the way out? Take a pill or something...jeez.

Yes, it does work, as long as the card is being cast. I'll see myself out before the thread gets locked.
