Another important thing from the story: Apparently, Amonkhet had three more Gods in the past, Gods that are now nowhere to be seen...
"And they came as three". Let´s go Eldrazi!
I sincerely hope not. From reading the short piece it would seem Bolas killed/kidnapped three of the eight gods but the eight were all part of the same group. We are missing analogs of three of the most important Ancient Egyptian deities: Isis, Osiris, and Ra.
Occam's Magical Razor applies. The important ones Bolas killed so he could usurp their place.
Actually, not. It would be waste to introduce three extra Gods as "dead" (i.e. without a card). I would say that Bolas imprisoned those gods and siphons their magic to power himself. And they will be released in Hour of Devastation and will be printed as cards.

I hate to bring this up yet again, but three missing gods? Something's ringing...
I kind of selfishly wish Samut were Bant-colored:
By herself, she can draw 4 cards with Tamiyo, Field Researcher's +1.
Tamiyo LOVES Vigilance + Double Strike, which is a very rare combination.
Momir Vig, Simic Visionary
Melek, Izzet Paragon
Oona, Queen of the Fae
Bruna, Light of Alabaster
Gisela, Blade of Goldnight
Rhys the Redeemed
Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord
Sen Triplets

LOL so true and so wrong at the same time. We will have to wait and see if they've learned their lesson like they keep saying though.
No more crap like this monstrosity. It might be 'fun' to buy but it doesn't make for fun MTG.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
Look at all the excitement/hype/talk with all the cards so far thats been previewed and Id say what their doing agree or not with the direction of this set has brought a lot of strong reaction on both the dont like and like side. And I havent seen this much of it from a set thats not fully spoiled yet in a while. MTG is always fun when you've got excitement and innovation. Yeah some cards make you say/think WTF but I think its way too soon to know if it'll be successful for or not.
Wow, a spoiler from the mothership where all three cards are constructed playable AND potentially missing pieces to major deck strategies? Sign me up.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!

Disappointment is more accurate. This set is either trash or OP. It's like Kaladesh, another set which is showing players fleeing from an awful standard environment. Creatures like this one are so over the top pushed (cough Smugglycopter) that they over-define the format.
All their pandering has gotten them is low standard attendance, thus lower sales, and a broken flagship format busted into battlecruiser magic. [see Samut, Emrakul, Copter, Heart of Kiran, Gideon].
They can't affect any change until Hour of Devastation or even after that since this set was in the can already when they realized 'oops, we broke it'.
This statement is so gross to me and I only started playing right before Theros.
I wonder if this tune would change if an annual supplemental set that used old school themes and design philosophy started to sell like hotcakes. Too bad we won't know because they won't do it.

Pathetic. Maro is a disgrace. I can see that WOTC has long stopped caring about the game, and instead are trying their best to milk it for as much as possible.
Is this an actual tweet or one of those fake ones? If it is real then this is incredibly gross that he would just say something like that, considering they've been struggling to make Standard any fun by doing this catering.
Well who the heck were Odric and Thalia based on? They seem pretty bottom-up as well. These are the kinds of characters the writers create to tell the story.
That said, I agree that a RG creature with a W activation cost definitely feels strange. I think she's meant to be a commander for Exert decks, granting haste to your creatures and untapping them after you exert them so you can exert them again on your next turn. She could have been a full-on Naya legend, but I think they prioritized making her RG so she can be played with just RG while still allowing white to play a role. Not a bad concept, the FRF Khans managed to pull that off, but the problem with including an element on a card is that most players will want that element to matter somehow, to make the card feel cohesive. While the FRF Khans may allow for dualcolor deck builds, most players who run them as commanders will opt to play tricolor decks to give themselves more options.
Furthermore, the bonus for playing white with Samut is something that she should already be able to do with green. A Naya Warrior is great, but it would have been preferable to make her flat-out RGW rather than RG with W.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

I took it from his twitter feed. It was part of some heated exchange between him and some people accusing him that magic is creatively bankrupt and all this yadayadayada
But the attitude struck me as wrong. Even if sales are the be all end all, I don't see why everyone cant get what they like
Exactly, there is no reason to throw out some things just to bring in only "what people like", plus doing this catering has only hurt them, which means that just by hearing a minority doesn't mean that's what the majority wants.
