But in a gy based set, I am dissapointed, hopefully I get more gy action elsewhere. So far the best gy interaction in this set has been the hydra.
I'm trying to be optimistic about these gods, and they may play better than they look...but all but 1 have been completely dissapointing. They should have made most of the activated abilities cost 1 less,so that they would feel more epic than azure mage and master trinketeer.

Should've been "if a creature was put into your graveyard from anywhere", that would at least make this potentially playable (with the cycling creatures, discard synergies). Absolutely unplayable as it is.
"unless a creature died under your control this turn."
Does this seem like a strange wording to anyone else? As opposed to, "unless a creature you controlled died this turn."
I think it's to remove the ambiguity of novice players thinking that a creature they controlled at any point of the game counted. Like, if an opponent stole one of your creatures then sacrificed it, that wouldn't count even though you had at one point been in control of it. It's reinforcing that the creature has to have been under your control at the time that it died.
Without other inexpensive creatures or token generators, Bontu won't be attacking or blocking much in Limited. A BW build could work because of embalm and in this situation Oketra's Monument would be acceptable. In Standard, we have access to Cryptbreaker, other inexpensive zombies, and, as noted, Relentless Dead.
We have Eldrazi scion tokens in standard still. This will not be hard to enable. Card seems fine though green and white still seem really strong by comparison.
I don't... I don't know how to evaluate this. Does this do something in Modern Aristocrats?
First thing that popped into my head. Really cheap aggressive finisher that could speed up thier clock significantly. Standard has no shortage of dying/recursion/zombie generation to keep things moving. I am going to have fun with this one.
Of course Bontu is. Otherwise These Gods would not be opposite gender from each of their correspondin Theros-counterpart d;)
On Bontu: Definately not my typa card. Really hard to evaluate. Might be best with crestures that are easy to revive & benefit from diein. Zombies ? d:/

I like this in Mazirek, but boy does that already have better things in it. The card itself isn't bad, nor is it amazing, it's just okay. Might do something in Aristocrats.
After seeing this, I am surprised the green one didnt care about a higher power for its activation. 4 seems way too easy in comparison with the activations of the other gods.
The only thing that might make this thing playable in any form is walking ballista, and even then you'd probably feel bad jumping through a hoop to get a four powered menace attacker for one turn. terrible card, perhaps the worst god. kefnet at least draws you a card and if he's only mediocre then oh boy...
Except for the green one and I guess hazoret, those gods just suck and are clearly the biggest failure in terms of worldbuilding, design and power.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
Ironically, this card works very very well with Athreos, God of Passage. Overall I think he is ok. Obviously there needs to be a deck around him but he could see play in the future in a deck that has a ton of edict effects or lots of sac elements
There are so many cards thst don't mind dying in this set I think this is good. And we still have the framework of a artisicrats deck available.

In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.
Cool with Reassembling Skeleton and Meren-type decks.
Hope this turns out to be for casual play only lol

"Diversity" at all costs is the modern "creative team"s motto.
Looks like rhonas wins the best god award
Before the glory of Yawgmoth, yes, even this makes sense.
Club Flamingo Wins: 1!

Wizards droped the ball when concerning these gods. I Rhonas tough, but mostly because hes stronger then the others even if its bland like the others.
