I like the Nissa but I'm kinda sad that it couldn't have been a blue or bluewhite control PW with similar abilities (ultimate as finisher, +as card selection, 0 as draw or free play). This is more beatdown beatdown beatdown. Okay its Nissa so that's part and parcel, but its kinda regrettable.
No Kaladesh Nissa is more beatdown. This is a control walker. Scalable to be relevant at all points of the game, fixing your draws, some free ramp or creature production, and a nice big 10 point hit. Yep, definitely control walker.
I love the Nissa, but sad that she had to be blue, I would have loved to be able to put her in my Rosheen Meanderer deck.
Oh well, like I said I do still like her and the zombie stuff is nice too.
U/G Nissa, huh? I was a little taken aback at first, but I think I can see it. She does seem curious, and seeks understanding.
As for the card itself, I think I like the design. The scry 2 obviously sets up the 0 ability. But I can see a lot of awkward moments where one of the cards scry'd goes to the bottom, and you use the 0 ability blind (barring other scry or "look at top card" effects). And as someone who has tried to play Kiora and Narset, I fear the whiffs.
The -6 though ... obviously very good. A very serious ultimate to threaten to tick up to, can win games out of nowhere, but can be defended against. I like it. "Topdeck Nissa, 10 you?" moments can produce some salt though.
An interesting card.

Ha, good one. She's too popular. Maro has stated that she's one of the most popular walkers on multiple occasions.
Also, just because she's Simic in one card doesn't mean she'll be those colors moving forward. It just means that she dabbles in blue as a secondary color.
My feelings on this set just improved greatly with today's spoilers
No matter how irrational that may be
Really? I've been in love with this set since day 1. Then again I'm biased as I love the hellbent mechanic. It's my second favourite mechanic in mtg. This set has been very very good to me.
First X walker, scaleable also pretty odd in a way, her +2 just scrys and her second may be able to cheat a creature in, but it depends on what you payed for X. The Ult is pretty regular for her.
Let's take a character with a moderately interesting moral conflict, strip it all away in a lazy retcon, not replace it with anything even remotely compelling, and then massively overrepresent her on cards. Brilliant.
Drat. MaRo confirmed that we were only getting 3 PW's in this set, so it looks like if we want to see an Amonkhet-native walker, we'll have to wait for HoD. Still, Simic Nissa looks fun and different enough, I suppose.
More fodder for my Zombie EDH deck, though. All we need is a Legendary Zombie in Esper colors and I'll be set.
Given that all 3 are spoiled already... And given the darker tone (as the name suggests, as well as Maro's reveal of "top-down Bolas" set) of the 2nd set... all pointing to a Bolas victory?
Like others stated before, I too am surprised at a U/G Nissa. I do like that she is an X cast 'walker, and the abilities are handy too.
Def loving the zombie tribal support! An uncommon lord that grants Menace and the Beast for a bit of reach are great additions to give zombies a power boost.

I didn't have negative feeling about the set, but it wasn't particularly endearing me with the reveals, either.

Nissa's going Urza's Rage mode there.. But also with the flexibility to take out 2 walkers. Cool.
