Im definately not a blue Playa, but damn . . . That is a strong blue card. Also good with that new Sphinx.
some on here claim Glimmer is better than this, is suuuuch a joke
Glimmer is only better if you spend X 4 Mana.
Seems good, in that it can scale with the game, but Im not sure it will make the cut, just because standard is so fast that you will never make it to the point where rhis flexibility pays off. Maybe there will be a card that really wants to be discarded, but it's not as safe as revelation. That being said if it turns out control has enoigh tools to make it through the midgame, this will be a powerful way to shut the door on a game.

All this talk of 'trading life'... for what? losing a card.
Without the life gain (especially in this meta) you don't survive. This is a dead card under turn 6. Glimmer is by FAR better.
I'd rather dig in my deck for what I need.
Of course blue players are salty, WotC threw them under the bus as a design philosophy because white and green players get salty when their creature gets countered or killed.
I'm really glad someone understands the current standard meta. It's not that this card is bad, it's that U/X reactive decks already have to be able to double spell by t3 and be able to manage the board state T4-5. There is the Gideon Window t4-7 and the Cast Gearhulk Window 6-8 without dying to Disintegration upon resolution.
In a different meta this card would be amazing, as of right now, glimmer is a much better alternative to staying on par with the meta as it stands IE:
Mardu Vehicles and 4c Saheeli.
I was pissed because we just got a meh 2cmc counterspell and another Sorcery Speed removal Spell for PW's. Having played and tested enough of standard for the season I know the meta. This card would need the meta to slow down.

Well, the best removal spells for the current format are in red and green so who's to say you can't play one, maybe even two, of these in Temur Tower?

In my dream, the world had suffered a terrible disaster. A black haze shut out the sun, and the darkness was alive with the moans and screams of wounded people. Suddenly, a small light glowed. A candle flickered into life, symbol of hope for millions. A single tiny candle, shining in the ugly dark. I laughed and blew it out.
Many thanks to HotP Studios. Special thanks to DNC for this great sig.
Pretty decent considering standard's recent draw spells. Instant speed draw X is a pretty big deal, even with the discard attached. Obviously it's no Blue Sun's Zenith, but it's not bad.
This is a good card. Decent card draw at a reasonable price and instant speed, and the forced discard is useful with madness still being a thing (also interacts with the embalm cards in Limited formats).

Don't fool me wizards, I have to spend 6 mana to draw 4 cards, and I pitch one those to net +3 cards. At 4cmc, this is worse than Glimmer of Genius (which scry's 2 and digs me deeper into my deck). Ummm....almost fooled me, Glimmer is better.

I casted one already. I win off of cast trigger. Game 2 anyway.
I'm pretty sure that's not how that card works. Approach says "If you cast this from your hand and you've already cast approach this game, you win the game." That isn't a cast trigger, if it were it would be worded like the Eldrazi Titan abilities that say "when you cast ~, do X", that's a check that determines which effect you get upon resolution. Your second Approach has to resolve to win you the game.

Why would I cast it again if I thought you were packing a Negate? Foolish.
Well hey, keeping the mana up to never let your opponent cast a card is often just as good as countering that card. Especially if that card is a win condition.

Are people actually arguing this VERSUS glimmer? It's not how it works. You still want glimmer because it's good with hulk, and is such a great glue finding spells needed to survive the mid game. Pull is a one or two of thats meant to slam shut the door in late game, when both players end up topdecking. I would, and definitely will split glimmer/pull 3/1 in control decks. Nice card.
I might actually play this in my Commander deck, so I think this card is kind of cool. It's an instant speed Mind Spring; that's important, and it has a less demanding casting cost than both Blue Sun's Zenith and Sphinx's Revelation. Sure, Pull from Tomorrow doesn't actually give its caster any kind of increased card advantage over the aforementioned cards since discarding a card to it neutralizes the advantage gained from having a decreased casting cost, but it is important to note that the card discarded with Pull from Tomorrow doesn't have to be a card drawn by it; the discarded card can just be something rotting away in your hand already. Combined with Library of Leng, I can actually even utilize the discard aspect positively by controlling which card in my hand I would like to put on top of my deck to use with other effects.
Overall, I'm glad this card exists. It seems so simple, but the way this card is costed is really significant. The developers did such a great job with it. It's walking such a fine line between playable and unplayable. Pull from Tomorrow even has niche uses over Stroke of Genius. Very cool.

Finally a blue card with some TEETH to it. This is the late game inevitability control decks needed, and the discard synergizes with just about everything in the last few sets. Words cannot begin to describe how nice it is to have a draw spell stronger then glimmer of genius.
The discard is negligible. This could see play in control decks.
This.
The scalability is key to why it's useful. And I could see it being played as a (key) 2-off beside Glimmer of Genius as the draw core for a blue based control deck.
Also compared to Sphinx's Revelation - which is more powerful, I know - this doesn't force a second color. This means that a control deck based upon this as a draw engine has more available colors - that is, card choices - to fill the rest of the deck slots.
I wouldn't run this over Glimmer (especially not with the Gearhulk synergy) but it's nice to have this as a 1-2 of in a control deck as a late game go over the top draw spell.
Smart design by Wizards here doesn't play well with Blue's best creature right now, Torrential Gearhulk. So decks will have to pick and choose if this card is worth a slot in say Temur Tower or some form of blue control with Gearhulk.
It seems like a trend from the very first days of Magic, and always proves to be true. Even JTMS made people whine because Beleren was better (see MTGS's thread in the Archive)...
Yeah, people have been whining about how weak blue is in every spoiler season since MTGS started. Even back when blue really was the best colour it was never good enough.

However, this might be the card we needed to make Inspiring Staturary a real thing. But even then, Gimmer might be better X% of the time.
