Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.

I've posted previously, we are looking at a reverse Torment/Judgement block. WG is going to be be nuts in Amon, and Grixis will swoop in and lay the smackdown in HoD.
Considering you can ramp into this turn 3 and cycle lands give you an easy way to get another card type in the yard...traverse and this guy just seem stupid.
I get this is in green'e wheel house because of "elvish piper" and similar effects but green CA and card quality engines in standard is scarily good.
This is absolutely bonkers. In formats outside of Standard this basically means free Emrakul on turn three or four (it's green, so ramp could get this out faster). Sure, you don't get the "when you cast" ability, but it's a free 13/13 or 15/15.

These are all already played or almost playable straight up the fricken curve. Long games against green just look like they're going to be miserable.
