I thought the whole cat thing in this set was a dank meme, but now I see the joke was on me
Also the artist can't draw a cat to save his life, the one on the left looks broken all over - perspective and foreshortening errors aside
But at least he made an effort, I have a sneaking suspicion that the guy who did Prowling Serpopard merely brushed over a photograph (displaced the head obviously to add in the neck) and that was the extent of his involvement.
Well,
in case you missed it, a caracal is a real-world feline, related to lynx. As such, it has not quite proportions of a normal cat. Ironically, the one on the left you are bashing has the closest proportions to a real caracal - bulkier body and comparatively smaller head ...

I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. I can't wait till I can play my bicycle land out, thus making me heckbent, while I have Nessie on the field. You know, so I can attack with my Pervert.
4x this
4x sacred cat
4x felidar guardian
4x felidar cub
4x metallic mimic
2x oketra (whatever she turns out to have)
4x cast out
4x oketra's monument
4x panharmonicon 4x some other removal or boardwipe or something, dunno
22x plains

I don't like Alpha because it has to flip before it does anything for Wolves. I don't really consider Partisan to be a lord because it doesn't have the +1/+1 staple of lord cards. Resurgence is nice but it's an Enchantment so it doesn't benefit from other tribal synergies the way a creature lord does. The rest are just typical tribal support. Alpha is the closest to a wolf lord that we have, but like I said, the fact that you have to flip it and it can be turned off by flipping back really hurts it.
I really like this new trend that Wizards has been doing with tribal lords, where they create the lord in such a way that it generates value even if it's removed immediately (This creating 2 1/1s with lifelink, the Aetherborn one drawing a card if it's killed, and the Wolf/werewolf one that creates a wolf token if it's targeted with a kill spell). I hope they keep doing it, since it gives lords a more interesting niche than just "very low costed beater that only makes other beaters better"
EDIT: Of course, they've done it in the past on occasion, but it seems like they're trying to aim lords more at this kind of design space consistently now, which I like.
I hate this design so much it hurts my faith in humanity.
Sacred Cat exists and gives us a 1/1 white zombie cat token with lifelink. If you're going to have embalm tokens, you don't put non-embalm tokens in the set.
But set that aside. If you're going to put 1/1 white cat tokens with lifelink into the set, make sure they're the same token.
But set that aside. If you're going to print a creature type lord, make sure the french vanilla 1 drop of that creature type doesn't have the keyword the lord gives it.
But set that aside. if you're going to print a lord that makes tokens AND gives a keyword to those tokens, don't have the created tokens have the ability already!
But set THAT aside. If you're so interested in the flavor of cats having lifelink, why doesn't the lord have lifelink?
But set THAT aside. This is 7 power for 5 mana in white. Not cool.
But set THAT aside. This doesn't have Embalm? Flavor fail!
Imagine this card:
Sacred Cat Lord3WW
Creature - Cat (R)
Lifelink, Vigilance
Other cats you control have +1/+1 and vigilance.
When ~ enters the battlefield, you may search your library for up to two cat creatures with CMC 1 or less and put them onto the battlefield.
Embalm 7WW
2/2
Regal Caracal: I can haz +1/+1 counterz? Cat Tokens (Kittenz): Us too? Metallic Mimic: Iz you catz? I can haz +1/+1 buffzez? Regal Caracal: Iz you cat? Everyone: Yesssssss!

I don't always play Jank, but when I do, I play Saffronolive.
5 mana for a 3/3 and 2x 2/2 lifelink tokens is a great deal (up there with Verduous Gearhulk although lacking the immediate haste-like impact). Having the +1/+1 and lifelink work for other cat typed creatures is also potentially useful.
The question is whether any white/x deck wants this type of upper midrange value creature over other options like Avacyn and planeswalkers.
If there is the interaction with Eldrazi Displacer is probably worth investigating.
As a stereotypical crazy-cat-lady (who got this title despite owning just one cat), I'm so hyped for this card I've had ideas for cat tribal decks for EDH and pauper in the past and after this set, I'm probably gonna rewrite some up!

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

Hoooo!
OMG yes!
Now for a Mumm-Ra for them to face...
Wish I could bring Amoncats to the Amonkhet Open House! Would be hilarious!
Seems like that might have been useful reminder text for this card.
Agreed, though I currently have a bit of a glut at 5 in that deck. I have to imagine this makes the cut though.

You can use Howlpack Alpha, Immerwolf, Silverfur Partisan and Howlpack Resurgence just fine in a wolf tribal deck as well as there being lord-like cards with Wren's Run Packmaster, Garruk Relentless, Raised by Wolves and Master of the Wild hunt.
Before this card Cats really only had Raksha Golden Cub

I don't know about Standard, but my Kemba, Kha Regent Commander deck runs Raksha Golden Cub (ideally equipped with Konda's Banner; +4/+4 and double strike to all my creatures is awesome) and Coat of Arms.
