Look at all the hoops they jumped through to make this non-legendary creature not give you infinite attacks if he has a partner. If only there was some kind of... I don't know... mechanic that would prevent you from having more than one of these on the field at the time.
Goes infinited with Mirror Mockery , that might be a real thing, as theres a bunch of cards that would work really well in blue/red aggro decks (say a Snapcaster, Clique and such).
You will exert the token and that will untap the guy to get in another attack , and you repeat that infinited times.
Yes this card seems to be fairly easy to break.
Works with Kiki Jiki aswell, but thats slower (but still in color).
Might be a thing for some mono red / blue red or jeskai colored decks, it hits like a truck or its just "infinited".
Mirror Mockery does not work. The token is exiled at the end of combat, and subsequently, never gets the chance to attack and exert.
So unless I'm mistaken, this is yet another infinite with Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker? Given it references itself, you attack, exert it, untap your dudes, Kiki makes a copy of him, attack, exert the copy, untap your stuff...rinse and repeat.
Question, does exert work with Flamerush Rider? The tokens come into play tapped and attacking, so can they be exerted?
How I read the exert ability, you only get the choice to exert when you declare something as an attacker, but maybe I'm wrong on that.
Still, I like this card it seems an interesting ability. Darksteel Plate on this (or Whispersilk Cloak) in Commander, seems like a fairly easy way to keep it alive and get some extra attacks.
Oh hey, actually, another thing that works with Kiki-Jiki.
It's...slower, but it still works.
That's actually quite hilarious. Instead of attacking for 10 billion, you attack for 4 10 billion times.
Also worth noting that unlike other Kiki combos, this one gets through Gideon Jura's +2. Not that it matters hugely, the fact that it doesn't get through Blind Obedience effects (which Restoration Angel also fails to do) is probably a bigger problem, and the fact that it's mono-red is a much, much bigger advantage.
It's actually not quite that slow. First attack with this and a kiki clone exert one of them, untap all other creatures. make another clone, and attack with all 3 of them for 12, rinse and repeat. You get 4 extra power each ocmbat assuming they all live, and since the untap is before blocks you can trade off both original and 1st copy uring the first attack and still make a clone with kiki for the next combat step until all blockers are dead.
This should go fine in my krenko/grenzo deck.

Yes. You make Copy A once the original attacks and Exerts itself. Then your stuff untaps, you swing again, make Copy B while Copy A exerts. Rinse and repeat.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
The only thing really holding this card back is its lack of haste. I suppose you could wait until turn 5 to cast Combat Celebratant followed by Reckless Bushwhacker for its surge cost then move to combat.

Ok, but you can't do this. The problem is that copy A goes away at the end of combat, before you get your second combat phase. So you can't exert copy A to get any more combat phases.
Still there seems to be plenty of other combos with it to get infinite combats.
Red trick cards have been bad for so long... this one seems like it's not.
I think they were tired of their special red getting laughed at as limited bombs. This card should play.
T2 Kiran
T3 Gideon + Swing with Kiran (16)
T4 this + cartouche 5/3 haste - attack for 13 than 8 ... GG as cartouch negates a blocker. Even if they have a second blocker it chumped the 5/3 and they still take 8+8 which is exactly their life total
That's pretty good. I wonder how Combat Celebrant will get along with Lightning Runner? Also, based on those two cards I presume that "extra combat phase" effect is now automatically mythic.
I think that's oly because those two are creatures and hence the additional combat is repeatable. I suppose on straightforward spells it could still be rare.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.
[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
Absolute jank and gets rekt by removal, but an interesting card nonetheless.
And if you don't kill it before it can attack it's you who's getting rekt...it may be fragile but it's absurdely powerful, I can see RDW or RG decks bringing it in to set the opponent on panic mode, or any swarm strategy that floods the board quickly.
In Limited this is obviously a bomb, even better if you have creatures with cool Exert abilities.
I'm not normally one to complain about this sort of thing, but why on earth is this mythic? Nothing about this feels "mythic" beyond its game potential. Random guy who is good at fighting does not meet the criteria for mythic. The effect is strong, but neither splashy or unique. What the hell?

Latest proof this forum is a trashfire:
Your authoritarianism will be the reason the company suffers another 60M in losses.
I know the mirror mockery and other and flamerush rider cases have been debunked already, but I wanted to add that this combo also doesn't work because the token doesn't have haste, so even if it wasn't exiled it would still not be able to attack again to exert again.

A card that generates constant extra combat steps isn't splashy? I don't think mythics have ever been all legendary permanents.

Extra combat step for zero mana isn't splashy? The ability to kill someone in standard turn 4 isn't "epic" mythic??
If you cannot interact with aggro early on, you tend to lose to it. I would argue that the current midrange decks are far more snowball-y, and early pressure from decent aggro decks keeps them honest. (We also need a solid control deck, but that is another issue)

This ability feels more god-like than the gods.

T2: Red monument
T3: This guy, plus the red and white cartouche, swing twice with a 6/3? Yeah, seems pretty nice.
Also; I can definitely see this guy finding a home in some R/G Aggro deck in the near future. X

cathar's shield then this will be less fragile and for a bonus exert untapped. (As long as they don't make a rule onthis though.)
