Prowling Serpopod 1GG
Creature - Cat Snake (rare)
Prowling Serpopod can't be countered.
Creature spells you control can't be countered. The viziers serving Rhonas, the god of strength, maintain the menagerie of animals employed during his trial.
4/3
Ohhhhh that 50cat/50snake is going to be amazing in a lot of aggro decks:)

11:15, restate my assumptions: 1. Mathematics is the language of nature. 2. Everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers. 3. If you graph these numbers, patterns emerge. Therefore: There are patterns everywhere in nature. - Maximillian Cohen.
Serpopard, the name sounds silly buut but the concept is cool.
I actually wonder.. a 4/3 for 3 a decent body without the effect and there are enough counter-heavy decks in the format that this could make wave sin standard, or at least give some permission decks enough headaches to make them less common
Because the mechanics/cards leaked so far lend themselves to fighting counterspells, meaning there is unlikely a better time to print a good counterspell through standard than now. If it's not right to print a great counterspell here, it seems like there won't ever be a time.

Yeah, this definitely screams for powerful countermagic orientation. So far there are many cards that for no reason can't be countered(except for Disallow and the graveyard interaction).
Like wpgstevo said. It is now or never. Expecting powerful non-creature spells that are reactive is reasonable from this set.
Looks to be about 35-40 feet tall or so judging by the people standing nearby. That's definitely a respectable size.
As far as the Cat-Snake.. that looks to have some serious potential in modern/legacy. In standard, it might squeeze into some side decks, but it depends on how potent counter magic is (usually isn't great nowadays).
well they pretty much have to print some good countermagic in this set. with aven mindcensor and this green card, they pretty much just made blue completely obsolete in standard. (not that there was any good tutor effects in blue currently, but in the past it was part of blue's identity). This green creature is really pushed even if it just said it can't be countered, good if it was just a 4/3 for 3, but completely ridiculous when it also stops all other creatures from being countered.
I don't want to get my hopes up, but they do seem to be hitting us over the head that there is a really good counterspellin the set, if not the card itself. If they give us honest to Ugin Counterspell I will not complain about Wizards again this block. Throw in another IoK level discard and I will let Eldrazi Winter go.

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
Is Wizards trying to push out Control decks entirely? It was mentioned before somewhere that Wizards doesn't like control decks because it doesn't want FNMs and tournaments to grind out, or have instance where the control player wins the entire match 1-0 because time ran out.
What is it with Magic and funky Cat creatures lately? Tarkir had Rakshasa (Cat Demons), Kaladesh had Bandar (Cat Monkeys), and now Amonkhet has Serpopards (Cat Snakes). Not to mention the return of Felidar (Cat Beasts) in Zendikar and Kaladesh. Is this building to some sort of Cat tribal thing, or is it just "to make weird fantasy creatures, just add Cat"?
I mean, I'm a fan of the Serpopard, it's just an odd trend.
(Also, I imagine that any cycling cards that have added effects when you cycle them are going to end up at least at uncommon - that's one of the relatively few things NWO actually does impact.)

"The true measure of all heroes is not what they achieve, but who they inspire." —Triumph of Gerrard
After thinking about it, tt's just a uncounterable vanilla. It doesn't go around wrath effects, which is much worse problem for control decks... I'd rather face this than Gideon or Vehicles.
But why Cat Snake? Creative easter egg? Challenge? Incoming tribal matters? Or just for the lulz?
All colors need to have some kind of focus. Each of the Gods must have some kind of move set. I'm hoping for the Cobra God to meddle with nature like the Simic.
Oh, FFS, as if blue wasn't terrible enough already and didn't have enough headaches with Thrun, the Last Troll... I guess they had to make it cheaper and staple Cavern of Souls onto it too.
Hopefully this is a sign that blue is getting some help in this set?
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
That cat-snake will be very good in some Modern Decks. Still dies to Bolt though. I want a play set. I can feel the price increasing as I type.

Please be joking. There better be an insane amount of countermagic and something Modern playable. Otherwise this is downright insulting.
Why so?
Countermagic in the modern MTG era is already a joke as is, no need to rub salt in the wounds.
While I agree with you, I take great shameful joy in that this is the first green card spoiled after the giant middle finger of all the blue invocations and not a single mono-green (yes, I'm aware the god will be one, which means blue gets another)
Enjoy all these wildly powerful counters from Magic's History! And also a snake cat, in case you get any ideas

They should have just gone balls to the wall with trolling counter magic decks and made it hexproof.

Card seems really sweet in edh too, plus it has one heck of a creature type and art, it just cracks me up looking at it!
