If it's that far ahead, I think we'll get spring summer 2018 set. Calling it now, Return to Dominaria, just in time for the 25th anniversary. I also expect FTV: 25 next year. What that means for ftv this year? No idea.
I don't need a dozen announcements for the 25th anniversary, I need just one: "for this anniversary, we've decided to finally let go of the reserved list for the health and future of the game."
Wrong thread again? I swear this thing just keeps coming back to me, gotta lay of that tinfoil hat...
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
What's weird about this announcement is, if I'm understanding it correctly, it'll be covering from June to June, but the anniversary isn't until August. So we won't be finding out what'll happen on the actual anniversary?
I'm also expecting a Return to Dominaria, and with the change in announcement, it may be the spring and summer blocks next year, which would coincide with R&D now.
As a MTGO player, I'm super curious what the announcement will be. I'm hoping for a Masques Remastered a la Tempest Remastered, but I'm guessing more info on Digital Next? I dunno. Bummer we gotta wait another three months though :/

For a while I had been hoping on a Reserve Masters set. They'd do it in August just in time for the actual anniversary. Would be perfect.

I'm not so sure. MaRo has always been very dismissive of the idea of returning to Dominaria on his blog. Possible, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I think another remastered series is an amazing idea but,
unfortunately, they have mentioned before that Tempest Remastered was not very successful and took too many resources for what they got back.
I was really looking forward to the announcement next week so I'm not happy at all to have to wait until June now. I already thought this was late enough, a few years ago we would have been knowing about the fall block for some weeks by now.

They'll give 'a long view into the future', but the announcement won't actually be related to 2018 (except ancillary stuff, whatever that means) and in particular not the blocks in the anniversary year. Then why push it? This delay and the 25th/15th anniversary doesn't really seem that connected.
The Ice age has returned to Dominaria, but this time it's colder even the underground seas have frozen, and the tropical islands have iced over. The elder dragon's awake to see what has befallen their lands. Alliances will be forged and new heroes will rise to help snap Dominaria out of this calamity.

The reserved list is never going away as long as WoTC is the owner of the Magic IP.
They would get sued for millions, and probably lose.
Return to Ravnica (again). It's practically inevitable.
There was that rumor some time last year that said we would get it along with an Egyptian style plane, so we just might. With the Gatewatch having their base of operations there it is only a matter of time, then how many times after that.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case.

Dominaria would be nice to see. I think it's only a 4 (meaning decent chances) on the Rabiah scale.
Edit: It's still presently in a state of temporal apocalypse, right?
