Thunderous Wrath at common feels like the biggest deal for Pauper, but there are a few other gems. Falkenrath Noble is no Blood Artist but I wonder if it might enable an "Aristocrats" style deck in Pauper now. Overall this set looks to be an amazing value with all mythics and many rares offering a ton of value.
Biggest misses are we now have had 4 "old format masters set" without a reprint for Noble Hierarch or Crucible of Worlds. Also a shame to see no reprint for Ancestral Vision since its price is out of control post-unban. Maybe next time I guess.

So the most interesting reprint(s) (value wise) for the rest of the set is Cyclonic Rift?
Well I was right that most of the set wouldn't be too interesting, but at least there is less than previous Masters sets. There are plenty of cards though that probably could have been replaced with better counterparts or just other cards. I am a little disappointed by the absence of some cards, like Crucible of Worlds, Simian Spirit Guide, Noble Hierarch, Voidslime, and others like those. The set does seem to have less of a focus on archtypes, compared to MM2 which went incredibly hard in that department, which allows for more cards of value or just interesting ones to show up. There is plenty of value of some sort at all rarities, although I expected another 5-10 personally from various cards for Modern, EDH, and kitchen table.
I think the lamest section of cards has to be artifacts, it's primarily Signets and 3 other artifacts. That's certainly a shame as you'd expect with a focus on multicolor they have going they would want a few cards that any deck could play. I'm not saying they had to be Sword level of playable, but Memnite or something wouldn't have been too much to ask.
Compared to the other Modern Masters sets this is definitely better than MM2, although I'm not quite sure how I would rank it with MM1, slightly worse, but not by much? Maybe about the same? Compared to all Masters sets it is better than MM2 and EMA, that's for sure with it being a close 2nd to MM1 if not tied for 1st with it.
All in all MM3 definitely made a huge dent in a lot of the cards in Modern, and if the print run is as big as to be expected then it will absolutely be more than just a dent for many of the cards here. We have value at all rarity levels, archtypes aren't being focused on so much that we get completely terrible cards even if there is some chaff still here, but far less of it, Modern is going to get a lot cheaper for many, and this showed that WotC is listening to the communities criticisms and complaints about the Masters line, at the very least. I would certainly call this a good product, although not perfect, thanks to the still odd choice of $10 packs and 24 pack boxes. These should definitely be $7 and 36 pack boxes, but that's an improvement for another time, I'm just glad they put more effort into this set than the last two Masters sets.
I can only hope that Wizards continues with this improvement so we see it in other products and areas of the game. With the pendulum swinging back a bit and this set improving perhaps we may be seeing a small turning point in the companies thinking and us enjoying the game even more so.

Ugin is going to get really bad once all the fatties are colourless. I sold all mine. Sell sell sell!
He's going to be absolutely rotten. Hangarback walker has already nerfed him quite significantly. I reckon he'll be $3 junk within 2 months of rotation
First, I want to say that the lack of Doubling Season baffles me with the archetypes listed. Made way too much sense to not have it in there, so I'm shocked that it isn't. And Noble Hierarch, while I"m not surprised it's not in this set due to her inclusion in MM2, I feel like it would've made a ton of sense with the multicolored theme, though I don't blame them if their belief was that they didn't really want back to back rares in the set.
Essentially, the final day was little worthwhile. Cyclonic Rift and Spell Pierce were the two big notable ones.
I'm actually shocked Kitchen Finks isn't in the set. It's a $12 card that needs to go way down in price. And the fact we didn't get any bolt spell shocks me. Manamorphose and SSG would've been a stretch, but would've been nice inclusions. And the only reason I thought Glimpse the Unthinkable might've been in it is due to the multicolor theme, but I'm not too surprised it isn't here.
So basically what we had was what many expected, practically nothing in the final day. But preview week was an absolute treat, as every single day there were some notable inclusions that got people excited. While I am bummed by the lack of much of anything in the final day, it's hard to ignore how many amazing reprints this set already has.
Hierarch was in MM15. I only opened one pack and that was my pull.
Yeah fail on my part. I had forgotten and saw so many complaints I figured it must be unprinted. I guess instead its just a card like Doubling Season that is insanely expensive still despite a MM reprint, and just keeps on climbing.

Found it a little odd that they only printed Soulbond cards in 2 colors: blue and red. I figured if Soulbond was going to be a thing here, it would be blue-white or blue-green. But they shut white and green out on Soulbond.
And, as Overload is only an Izzet ability, those are the colors for Overload as well. Which seems odd to me that in this set, two of the keywords are exclusive to the same color pair. Meanwhile UG didn't seem to get any devoted keyword attention. There are a few UG multicolored cards for various purposes, but I can't really cobble together the UG draft archetype. If they didn't go Soulbond on UG, Evolve woulda been nice.

To be fair, looking at the cards in this set, Lightning Bolt and Rift Bolt would have been too strong for limited, even at Uncommon. I too am a bit disappointed about no Cursecatcher, Manamorphose or SSG, but those are cars I have only been thinking of playing, rather than actually wanting. It's too bad that Hierarch, Vilas and Crucble are going to spike at the end of the day, but you are also correct: This set already has a bunch of amazing reprints.
What a cool set. Today's cards didn't change my shopping list, though. Will be happy to have easier access to Cyclonic Rift, though, for when I build my next EDH deck with blue.
Me too. I'm only going to pick up a couple of foil Fetchlands each, and a foil Cavern of Souls, and call it a day.
If the set sold for regular MSRP of $4 a booster pack, I'd be interested. The packs cost too much. As many good reprints as there may be in the set. If wizards had simply reprinted all of these cards in small amounts in standard sets then there wouldn't be a modern masters. Then no one would find $10 booster packs interesting. Have fun buying the $10 booster packs.
I'll probably buy a few singles and benefit from other people wasting their money. Specifically blood moon. If blood moon falls to $5 each I'll pick some up.
Blood Moon will never be that price lmao. $5
This pack is fine for the price it is. Eternal Masters packs are overpriced, in comparison.

People that feel $5 for a Blood Moon is reasonable should probably refrain from pricing comments in general.
Today's list was pretty disappointing, they should have saved either Tarmogoyf or Cavern of Souls for the final day of spoilers.
Great set though

I preordered for the very first time just before the full spoilers was out. I still think it's a very very good set. One must be mad to be disappointed after such a "high" the past 4 days... There have been sets that disappointed on day 1 of spoilers. And most of them are from the last 2 years.

Lots of neat goodies for Pauper players along with possibly the most of the best possible reprints. Hooray!
Modern - Cheeri0s (building), Belcher (building), Lantern (building), UW Control (building)
RIP Magic Duels. Wizards will regret what they did to you.
I wish Noble Hierarch would have made it, but ah well, can't have them all.
Now all that is left is to hope the 5x print run rumor is true and watch some prices drop before buying.
