Well mm17 Just can't stop being awersome. Best modern masters.
It's close right now, but we were all mostly pumped with MM2 and EMA until the entire spoiler showed. This one is looking good, but best to keep expectations low, just in case.
Another one of those cards that's obviously good but the price of it is due to a lack of availabitity in Modern. Very solid reprint; and I hope we see Drogskol Captain in here as an uncommon (if there's enough spirits to validate its appearance).
I'd like some Drogskol Captain in modern border so I can trick out my spirit deck to full potential!

It's funny - I've seen this reaction a lot today, both here and on Twitter. It's like everyone was so burnt by the second half of EMA being spoilt that no-one trusts WotC to not half-fill a set with dross anymore.
I can remember making it halfway through the EMA spoilers, seeing Hymn to Tourach getting reprinted, and thinking "this set might just be the most awesome Magic set of all time". And then the entire second half of the set got spoilt the next day, and we had Sphinx of the Steel Wind as the last mythic, Pyrokinesis and Imperious Perfect holding down rare slots, and the KTK common duals in the land slots.
I hope all these good reprints are an eventual gateway to making it in commander products. Then we'll have really cheap cards to make multiple EDH decks hahaha

EMA was a fantastic set. The thing about EMA is that card prices were high for some cards because of low supply, so once they got printed in EMA they tanked pretty hard. But the set itself did a lot of things right. It had quite a few misses, but it was overall very good. But it's a whole different beast when you're making a set for eternal.
MM2's big issue was its commons and uncommons. The best uncommon at release was Remand AINEC. It was over $10 at that time. I don't think anything else was at $5 at MM2's release. We got three uncommons worth $7+ in IOK, Might of old Krosa, and Path. That's just today. Now those could be the only 3 uncommons worth $7+, but it's still more than we got in all of MM2. And IOK and Path are played so much that I doubt they go under $1. Who knows what we get in the rest of the set, but the EV is absurdly high so far. And we could see more really expensive cards. Of course we should wait until the set is finalized, but what we've seen has been absolutely fantastic.
Phantasmal Image at rare.

The original Modern Masters would have a word to say to this, but it is incredibly close.
