I'm going to do an obligatory "I ******* knew it."
I ******* knew it.
This is so unsurprising that I am filled with glee, although it's still stupid it's mythic, but I'm glad I'm right, because that's all that matters. First real disappointment of the set so far and we're only 1/7th through it. I do have to wonder what their reasoning was for this though.
I am a little surprised he made the set was kind of expecting to be held back until Eternal Masters 2. Upshifted to mythic is no surprise at all. We all knew it was going happen because it happened to Dark Confidant.
I was expecting this at Mythic to be one of the face cards of the set. It doesn't surprise me at all, and the price will still go down temporarily for all copies of Snappy. Pick them up now rather than later though and enjoy your return on investment!
I'm personally happy it got reprinted at all, that's it for me.

That happened to Bob because mythics didn't exist in OG Ravnica.
It is an analog to Bob, from its CMC to its power level to the fact that an invitational winner designed it. It should be mythic.
But it wasn't, and is the first time that a Rare from a set with Mythics in it was upgraded to Mythic. And why? It certainly wasn't for Limited, and the effect, while very good, doesn't justify a rarity bump for complexity. Bumped just for the value, similar to Goyf, I suspect.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Cards are game pieces, and should be treated as such, easily replaceable.
Cards are not money, investments, or a retirement fund, and should never have been treated as such.
Wizards made a mistake caving to speculators once, and we still pay for that mistake 2 decades later.
"Entitled:" the entire ad hominem fallacy condensed into a single word. It doesn't strengthen your argument to attack motivations, it just makes you look like you don't understand the argument.
I was expexecting the mothership to reveal this one so they could explain why this has to be mythic for limited balance and blah blah blah. Oh well no surprised at all by this.

Bumped for its combined price and power level. This is the first time a rare from a mythic-containing set was upshifted, but the community should get used to it. After all, if Cavern of Souls makes the cut, the second instance may be occurring really soon.
If dark confidant and tarmogoyf were upshifted at mythic i don't see how that should be different for snapcaster.
It feels different because Dark Confidant and Tarmogoyf originated in sets that didn't have the mythic rarity. They feel mythic now because of the narrative that's built up around them.
Snappy is definitely mythic in narrative quality from its seat at the Table of Broken Two Drops, but it came from a set that already had mythics. That makes it feel like what we were told in the original Innistrad set was wrong.

And here is the rarity upgrade. And I think it is a bad decision to do so.
A lot of reprints might be great etc. But in an expensive set like this and rarity upgrades like this none of the prices will go down like it happened in CON2 or the fethces in Khan(s).
Seriously you are suprised by upgrade to mythic... We all knew it was going happen because it happened to TarmogoyfDark Confidant

If WOTC can downgrade the MR to R, why they cannot do something opposite?
This rarity shift has nothing to do with the rarity original (Innistrad or whatever) set being right or wrong.
Argh...

This marks the first occasion of a Post-Alara rare being updated to a Mythic.

But not that surprised it's mythic in the set.
Not going to have a huge drop but still going to be a little bit smaller.
Well atleast my brother has a chance of owning snapcaster mage since he got a box (assuming his order diden't get canceled.)
I don't care if i get a warning this is just ridiculous.
Well, mythic. I don't think we really hoped to have this one as a rare, or did we?
Before the glory of Yawgmoth, yes, even this makes sense.

It was either this or something basically unplayable in Modern like Omniscience or Jace AOT.
And the upshift really isn't surprising since R&D considers the card to be one of the biggest mistakes they ever printed.
I have to say that I like the art, though I don't like the Invitational winners' cards to get new art unless the setting calls for it.
My 720 Peasant Cube
Ah well, I have my playsets already, maybe Blue keeps on sucking and the price still drops.
