The art on the gurus is beautiful as well, but I don't feel like selling all my internal organs to get my hands on a few XD. Curious to see the art on these lands though.
I enjoy the art aspect of magic alot, I hope they just get rid of the basic land design and go with full art going forward. it's not like the blank box tells you anything about the mechanic of the card. personally they are ugly and now that I'm spoiled with full art lands I dislike the basic ones greatly. I also enjoy some of the special full art cards aswell, I know alot of you purists would hate to see magic branch out with their card designs but there is definitely room for them to experiment.
either that or have some microsoft hololens app that creates a 3d battefield from the cards played on the table. yugioh style augmented reality I'm ready for you!!!!
I wish they would make all fat packs have full art lands that way if people want full art lands of a set they can just buy a fat pack and the people who hate full art lands can just get their lands from booster packs.
Wasn't that a concern during BFZ that if all the bundles contained a FA land pack that they'd be price jacked and hard to find? I would love to just have FA lands instead of the half lands, but I thought that was one of the reasons for it besides WOTC wanting you to buy all the packs.

I don't think the concern ever went anywhere though. Each one had 80 full art lands and that's just going to over saturate the market to where no one really expressly values them.
I think the price of the fat packs did get jacked up above MSRP though just because they were in there. The individual prices were still low, so in reality the increase in fat pack prices made no sense. Would love to see them in packs, but who knows. They might be Program only for all we know.
The fact that it's foiling makes me think Full Art lands aren't going to be an Amonkhet booster pack thing. But one can hope!
Standard Showdown also returns May 6, which is actually really cool, but I wish that Wizards would maybe run it concurrently with FNM so that the two events don't compete with one another.
I really doubt that running it the same day as FNM is a good idea, the idea is to get more people playing Standard not just piggy back it onto another tournament. It also makes it harder for casual fans to understand why FNM would have different prizes for a short period of time.

Some LGS did charge more for BFZ fat packs due to the 80 full-art lands they were also more difficult to find in stores like Target because those lands helped sell the fat packs.
Bfz fat packs were price jacked b/c of hype. Ogw fatpacks also had full art lands, but contained the more valuable wastes as well and those fat packs were way more available at msrp b.c it was a repeat. Problem solved.
I wish they would sell strait up land packs that follow the same logic as booster packs. Just make the rare land one of the rare ones from standard and have mythics be the modern lands like scalding tarn and Nimbus Maze. I think it's the one thing people would have no qualms opening.

This may very well be my favorite Swamp ever. Such gorgeous artwork. It's nice to have new full art basics. I hope Wizards continues the trend in each new block.

"Sign up for this event in Wizards Event Reporter and receive twenty Welcome Decks, plus twenty-five premium full-art basic lands (five of each) from Amonkhet to use as rewards for both new players and veteran players who bring a friend."
"Additionally, I'm excited to introduce Magic Open House on April 15, an event-filled day where players can stop by their local store for fun, casual play that includes learn-to-play Magic events, free 2017 Welcome Decks for new players, and premium foil full-art lands for interacting on digital. If there's someone you've been looking to teach Magic, we hope you bring them to a store near you on April 15."
Those full-arts are just outright gorgeous, I'll take a million please. In fact, Amonkhet could be my absolute dream-plane right from the get-go. I love the style, the atmosphere, the landscape, it's all so frickin beautiful! I'm a bit worried though because of actually getting full art lands. I really, really hope the block packs a punch and that those lands aren't there to compensate for a lackluster, weak product, like bfz.
I'm SO SICK of the "too strong for Standard" argument. It's the new "Dies to removal". We can have a two mana 4/4 with a zillion abilities, but we can't just have Accumulated Knowledge. Makes sense.
So... are these literally only available through the Magic Open House event on April 15th? Is it actually confirmed anywhere that these are obtainable any other way?

"Finally, we announced full-art basic lands as part of some in-store promotions last week, but that's not the only place you'll find them—you can also get them in Amonkhet booster packs! Full-art basic lands will appear in approximately one out of every four boosters and will be available in other products as well."
well fat packs will jump off shelves . 2 booster boxes and a fat pack please !!! I'm glad I put together a bolas commander deck. theses lands suit the theme soo well!!

No, they said from atleast 4 (possibly 1 and a couple more knowing about odds) 1 of them will have a full art in a pack

MaRo also states that the Bundles will have a quarter of the lands be full art.
Oh. Thanks for the link. Why on earth would they make it 1 out of 4 though?
From a general standpoint: Because it keeps the full-art lands special and unique, allowing them to create hype and interest when next they show up.
From a financial standpoint: It sells more packs.
I like the idea of full art basics in 1/4 of the packs but I hate the art on these. The only one that appeals to me in the slightest is the island and the horns just ruin it. Like, I really hate those horns. Good flavour for the set though. I hope the full arts continue so all players will find ones that speak to them. For now we have Hedrons vs horns lol.
