Personally I think only angels and demons actually fit on Innistrad. Dragons and hydras don't really fit the "B-movie horror" motif.
Lorwyn is kinda odd, since technically Lorwyn has all creature types, but other than that, no iconics on Lorwyn. Shadowmoor, however, has angels, demons, and dragons, but not hydras or sphinxes.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

Hydras were not yet green's iconic during Lorwyn/Shadowmoor. They migrated Hydras to green in the next block and announced green as green's new iconic sometime around Alara/Magic 2011 IIRC.
Regardless on what peoples opinions are on whether demons should exist on kaladesh, this guy is really a step over many of the past demons they've made. The fact it's on your end step that the opponent discards makes this a really good play, and I'd say this demon is a good play at 5 mana. Realistically, I don't think this demon is going to come down turn 3 unless someone did some serious glass cannon gimmickry to their deck. I know some people, including myself, envision the "Sram slam", which is basically turn 2 Sram, Senior Edificer followed by a slew of Cathar's Shield, Ornithopter, and Bone Saw, then draw into demon and play it turn 3.

Love the name "Sram Slam". I want to run that janky deck, a shame my job won't let me get to an FNM.

Yeah, here's the basic deck list idea for running it. You end up going low to the ground and aggressively play as many artifacts as possible, then either you have extra draw spells to get into Sram, or play more conservatively with some removal. It's definitely mid-range, but more towards the aggro side.
My own job prevents me from getting to FNM as well, so I usually only play cardboard games once in a month at most. Another card to consider for the deck is Aethersphere Harvester. It's a lot stronger than people realize and even if copter was still around in standard I'd probably give that vehicle a lot of consideration. The fact it's a 3/5 flier with lifelink on demand makes it a pretty powerful choice.

There was another 5-drop demon which never saw as much play as it should have: Archfiend of Depravity. Force your opponents to choose only two creatures to keep and sacrifice the rest on their end step? That is a very punishing effect, especially if their strategy is to go wide, and also gets around hexproof, indestructible, or even shroud. As with many such creatures, though, it will win games in Limited then disappear into near-oblivion once Constructed picks up again.

There's a big problem with that one: It costs 5 mana all the time and I seriously tried hard to make Archfiend of Depravity work. Herald of Anguish is downright insane. It's impervious to Fatal Push, Red burn can't kill it, and it's a Phyrexian Plaguelord that can kill other aggro targets more effectively than Liliana, The Last Hope. I've been playing "Sram Slam" with him recently and to say he is one of the best demons ever printed is an understatement. The only weakness he has is that he needs to be built around to work, but the deck is definitely competitive and I'd probably call him more of a turn 3-4 play in an aggressive build.

This guy's price has doubled since prereleases happened. Wouldn't be surprised if this ended up being great or like many other mythic demons in the past.
I went to two Prerelease events but no one opened a Herald of Anguish. Based on the performance of other Improvise cards, though, it should over-perform any time you manage to obtain one.

Has the price spike been due to just standard, or is he being run in multiple formats?
I pulled one at Prerelease. It was insanely crazy good. It was casted for five the three times I did draw it and that discard and ability is too good. Against non-red decks, he will win you the game every time.

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
The deck I ultimately settled on since I wanted to play with the new Tezz was UB improvise. Strictly Better MTG did a spot on two possible improvise builds and it seems like we sort of agreed in some regards to what to use. Servo Schematic, Cogworker's Puzzleknot, Ornithopter, Bone saw, and Pacification Array are the low end artifacts to use as fuel and targets for Tezzeret's Touch. Herald of Anguish is the four of top end to it.
Also, we got a set with an airship and a kick ass demon. I'm totally having flashbacks to Shadow Hearts Covenant. And for all those who don't have any context to why I'm even thinking this, here is the cutscene that is playing in my mind right now...

I pulled one from a prize pack. I don't know whether to sell/trade it ASAP, wait and see what happens at the pro tour, or just throw it into my Breya EDH deck. Some of the guys at my LGS who do a lot of standard testing aren't super thrilled about it in comparison to CopyCat (or crazy cat lady, as the people at my shop say), so I'm not super optimistic.
I pulled 2 promos of these at 2 prereleases, not complaining. It was a serious beating whenever it came out, especially with the servo creators.

Cards are game pieces, and should be treated as such, easily replaceable.
Cards are not money, investments, or a retirement fund, and should never have been treated as such.
Wizards made a mistake caving to speculators once, and we still pay for that mistake 2 decades later.
"Entitled:" the entire ad hominem fallacy condensed into a single word. It doesn't strengthen your argument to attack motivations, it just makes you look like you don't understand the argument.
Delirium without emrakul isn't very good and many of the new cards can block early grim flayer effectively. Madness doesn't even matter with this because if they are running Madness cards they already got a thousand outlets at the ready. That and you're still forcing them to play Madness cards at a point they may not be able to pay the madness cost.

Yeah I'll take an infraction or whatever I don't care but stupid people bug me.
